:yep I was mainly thinking of why you'd go with Groves win only rather than a points/stoppage bet to add more value.
That's just my formula I've had success with. To have one that adds value and then to have the other one or two bets at shorter odds that I'm 90% confident in. I dig the 2/7 or 1/4 type odds in a treble. Being greedy always bites a better on the ass. Besides I don't know whether Groves will stop that guy or not, I really don't.
I had a nightmare about this bet. Remember being in a panic seeing a list of results showing Groves had lost Looks pretty good value to me and think I'll have a little piece of the action. :good
There are two options for that second bet. It's Haye or Hopkins. My rationale is simple. Haye has a dodgy chin and is fighting in the heavyweights, Hopkins can't be taken out realisitically. Ruiz is a live opponent that isn't a walking corpse, Roy Jones is a walking corpse.
I'm weighing up placing bets on Hopkins by KO/TKO or DQ at 6/4 as well as a bet on Hopkins by decision/technical decision at 1/1. What you reckon? Worth a chunk on both results?
Hopkins is certainly a better bet. I think a lot of people are overlooking Ruiz, granted he isn't any great shakes but if he catches Haye he can certainly discourage him. There must be a lot of fanboyism with the KO odds, like there was with the Hatton/Mayweather fight.
I'm leaving thsi fight alone. Expect Haye to win but can't see any value in any of the eventualities. What you think of my Hopkins idea? Surely Jones can't win the fight?
The odds astound me to be honest. Ruiz by KO at 8/1 is the bet, the bookies must have short memories of how many times Haye has been down and/or hurt. Otherwise how do you justify 8/1? I also think Ruiz is the stockier, tight guard pressure fighter Haye has had his troubles with in the past. A little short punch might deck him if he's not careful. The 6/1 for the knockdown is pretty good, Ruiz might pull a Mormeck. But Haye could recover, Ruiz is not a natural finisher. I honestly don't see where this decision some people think is coming from. If Haye got that decision in Germany I don't see him losing this one in the UK where he'll do far more. The forces seem to be behind him to win this fight and go on to fight the Klits.
Yeah 6/1 for the KD is decent, might have a little shot at that. For a heavyweight fight, unless you have a great chin or are in with someone that can't punch, nobody should be more than 3 or 4/1 to be decked. Edit - Boylesports are offering 9/4 for Haye on points, 9/2 for Haye to be down...... works out nearly 18/1. If you fancy Ruiz to stay on his feet throughout they are paying 7/4 - making it 49/1 :yikes Edit 2 - Skybet offer the same double (Haye getting off the canvas to win on points) at 24/1. That's gotta be worth £5!
You can get that 71/1 treble on Boyle for both fighters to be KD. Whether they'd pay out is another matter
Millwall are in great form at the minute. Picked up on it a few fixtures ago and it's done me well . . . as have Stevenage and Notts County over the last month. :good 5/7 (Betfair) on West Brom seems great value though against a struggling Leicester.
anyone got any bets on for the fights this weekend? just back from ladbrokes got a cheeky wee bet on roy at 7/2
