Looks like you were spot on Verdasco led 5-1!!

Ferrer just came back and won 7-5, Verdasco looks spent now, wouldn't be suprised if we see a 6-1 or 6-0 scoreline in the second.

Gulbis has been on my one to watch list all year for his improving performances and he's really shown himself today, he took a set off Nadal on the clay...he's well in it in the third.

Him and Berdych are future slam contenders. Berdych on his day is unbelievably good and his days are coming more consistently.

Berdych on hard courts is more of a threat...he's so powerful. Kinda like Del potro but he's playing a lot better than DP atm.

More of a threat than himself on clay courts. I expect him to push on this year at the US Open..maybe even Wimbledon. He has the serve to potentially do okay there. This could be his breakthrough year judging by how he's performed in tour events its just whether he finally delivers on his talent in slams.

Can't see past Nadal for the French...

I have to disagree with you there mate very rare I do as you talk sense all the time, but I think Berdych has had his day I know that seems odd thing to say at 24/25, but I think he is in that 15-50 ranking mindset now where he is capable of upseting the best but is happy to get to the odd quater/semi of the big events and win the odd small event, I really thought when he won the Paris Masters a few years back that was his break through and for sure a future slam winner.

Gulbis now he is a talent he needs to get his head right, I read this week that he hates training and is not to bothered about tennis, not the sort of things you want to hear form such a talent, but I see him being the modern day Marat Safin having all the talent in the world but not the brain to be a truely ATG. ( Also has the Safin haircut going on ).

    Nadal v Ferrer final zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

But I really like Gulbis class talent.

Not many young talents coming through at the moment? Wonder why that is?

I like gasquet atm. Yes hes a mug but a very very good player on his day. He is the one to watch for wimbledon. Also, soderling has improved well this year. Can't myself see berdych getting into the top ten i think hes found his level tbh.

Maybe you are not aware of how Berdych's been doing of late. That's the point people are making about him. He's always been talented as he showed many years ago, but he's been one of those slow burners that never kicked on, you have a point there. Theres a feeling he's really matured this year. I've seen some unbelievable tennis from him of late, hitting the ball so hard and consistently. He's made some good players look decidedly ordinary. I'm a believer in him.

Gulbis has to work on closing out key moments. He tends to bottle it big time as he nearly did against Fed, he's had a few shakey moments.

He is having a decent season so far, but I watched him v Wawrinka this week and to me it seemed the same old Berdych, the one who blows hot and cold and can beat anyone on the planet but also loose to anyone on the planet.

Not really mate. He was at home serving out the biggest win of his career in the quarters against the best of his generation. Still broke back next game and served it out next time.

Gasquets got a lot of class, lovely touch and world class backhard, just lacks the power. That's the problem these days, the best players tend to be fairly big powerful guys that hit the ball hard.

Put it this way if Gasquet plays his best and many of the big boys play their best theres only going to be one winner, they just blast him away.

    :rofl

Mate he looks done to me, Gasquet might come back win the odd event he has no chance what so ever to at Wimbledon this year, he is playing horrible.

Soderling is on fire but still capable of blowing up at any minute like he did v Wawrinka this week. Cillic is the best outsider for Wimbledon for me.

No disrespect mate but do you know much about Gulbis?? He is mocked and called " MR BREAKPOINT " for the simple reason he loves to collect break points but not closing out the deal, Gulbis is still young but he is horrible at closing out games and matches when he has them in trouble.
