Agree about Germany maybe being better off losing Ballack. I think in some ways he's been holding them back over the last couple of years, loping around the midfield like a zombie providing a 'steadying influence'.

Think they could surprise. Young, fresh side, with players like Ozil and Cacau, and the Bayern pair Muller and Badstuber.

Tempted with Uruguay Double Chance against France. Don't rate France at all and Forlan and Suarez will fancy their chances against a shot Gallas and left back in Abidal who is playing centrally.

ha, well i'm pretty new to betting to be honest, kinda started through visiting this thread actually. I don't think i'm doing too bad I keep bets low, mainly been betting on friendlies lately just so I'm more interested in watching them and can get a feel for teams in the world cup. Currently watching spain vs poland, I've watched spain a few times lately and they look a really really good side.

Chile to beat Honduras would be a very solid play I think. The odds have been coming in on that.

Agree with the WC picks for this weekend. I had previously warned off picking Serbia over Ghana for a couple of reasons but the injury setback that has ruled Essien out puts the nail in the coffin for Ghana as far as I'm concerned. Find it slightly difficult to rule out SA since they haven't really had much of a test in warm up (and therefore isn't much form to go on) games but Mexico have been above average.

Bonavena - Would you give Cacau a chance at the Golden Boot? I asked Bet365 for a price and they offered 66/1. I fancy them to score a few as a team and Podolski and Klose are in dreadful form.

    :deal

It's a shame they're scheduled to face Brazil in the next round otherwise I think they could have done alright.

Does noone fancy South Korea against Greece? 2/1

I think Greece have been awful and the South Koreans are looking very well organised. Could be the second qualifier from the group behind Argentina for me. :think

Yeah. I stuck them in a double with Spain (vs Switzerland) on the same day. Again, only small mainly because I had a go on the forecast of 1st - Spain 2nd - Chile. All the eggs in one basket:nono

If he gets a starting spot then you never know. He's a very lively striker and Germany seem to playing an expansive game. They also have a handy group.

The problem is Miroslav "I'm shite apart from the world cup" Klose. There's a possibility he flukes a couple of goals early on and gets the nod for the duration. However Cacau has been replacing him in friendlies and doing well so he might start.

That's the obvious dilemma I've been trying to decide upon.

Reckon I'll stick £1 on it just so that I don't kick myself too much if it comes in. :yep

I've got Chile and Argentina double at 1.4/1.

England and Chile double at around 1.3/1

Argentina and Spain double at evens.

and a throw away £1 bet on both a Mexico and Uruguay double at 8.5/1, and a South Korea and Serbia double at 5.3/1.

England and Slovenia double at 2.4/1 ?

Forlan over 1.5 goals at 5/6 with Sky Bet

Surely that is a giveaway. He will start all the games and noone in that group is defensively solid. He also takes penalties. Have dropped £30 on it but whne I grow some balls I'll put more on

Also have put £20 on Fabiano at 4/6 also with Sky Bet. He could do that in 1 game, definately in 3.

Crouch is 4/6 with Paddy Power to start against the yanks.....

Rooney-Heskey seemed like the partnership but Heskey hasn't started any of the warm up games and Crouch has got the number 9 shirt....surely this is printing money!?!? (Heskey is 5/4)
