Fed is too passive he was not struggling to return the shots. He is a baseline player always has been.
Point is Berdych is the some of the 'easiest' power on tour. He doesn't even need to take a giant swing like a Soderling, he's in the Del Potro ilk of natural power and timing. Djokovic seems to be playing really really well. Where Djok is going to have an advatange is he's such a great mover. I think Berdych can get stuck into his serve though unless he has a very high %. I think it is about 50/50, its very hard to call I think it will be much harder than Fed today.
What do you think to Murray/Nadal? Murray has opened up about 6/4 on Betfair, Nadal the opposite.....
It feels like it could be Murray's year somehow, although we've probably said that many times. He's had the nicest draw imaginable up to now and hasn't extended himself at all. Nadal had a few injury niggles coming into the Soderling match but seemed to play well there. I really have a hard time backing against a form Nadal against anyone but...:arran I'll take Nadal unfortunately.
I didn't see much of the match today, but it was definitely a good win for Nadal with the way Soderling has been playing. It's probably an in play betting match.... if Nadal can push Murray back and get into a battle of groundstrokes I'd see him taking Murray quite easily. If Murray can mix the match up and get Nadal moving around the court he can pull it off.
Yeah no way Murray will win by lobbing them back and slicing. Nadal changes pace far more effectively than Murray, he'll just bash him to all corners of the court. Murray has a great return game to break Nadal quite often if he gets it right, but the reverse is also true, and Murray's serving percentage can be quite shocking. He needs to push 60% to win. Murray employed a very aggressive strategy at the US open when he beat an unfit out of form Nadal, whether he has the same balls at Wimbledon under more pressure is debateable. He does need to be aggressive and get to the net first.
Yeah, he could quite easily find himself going out in straight sets if he gets his tactics wrong. Up until the US Open I'd always felt Nadal was the one player Murray would never beat barring a miracle..... but if he employed those tactics again it would certainly make for an interesting contest. ------------------------------- Loving the stoppage on Prizefighter..... first fight £42 up :yep
If it goes 5 no way Murray wins Nadal is a machine in the fifth set. Mr Vip you not had your medication mate?? Berdych has no power wtf??? He some of the biggest shots on tour you mad man .
Any final thoughts on the two semi finals? I've had a fair chunk on Uruguay to qualify tonight.... might lay a bit of that off and have a bet on the tennis, with the winnings going straight back on the football
Holland to win. Holland to win a half. Holland to qualify. Holland corners>Brazil corners. Holland HT/FT draw/win Holland to win by nil
I can't believe how well Berdych has done since I started championing him. I should be his lucky mascot.
Nadal's groundstrokes are keeping Murray where he wants him.... seems to be anticipating his movement and putting the ball in an awkward spot. Unless Murray can improve he's going out in straight sets.
