Yeah I can see the Hilfenhaus/poor man's Hoggard comparison. Really expected more from him today though to be honest the way the conditions and pitch were set up.

Bollinger was dreadful. The commentator even likened his performance to that of Johnson's in his first few Ashes matches.

Comfortable win on the under bet in the end but I was worried for a while.

Got to agree about England's prospects as well at the minute. . .

I don't think Bollinger is up to much either.

Siddle looked impressive at times against England and the Saffies before that..... but the days of Australia producing top class players constantly seems to be over for the time being.

Ponting is being badly let down by his bowlers - his captaincy in Tests is average at best, but still.... you'd expect a bit more support than what he is getting.

He's miles ahead of the pack in terms of ODI captaincy though :deal

Is there any captaincy involved in ODI's? It's very formulaic.

Only way Australia beat England is bat first get a stack of runs on the board and put on pressure. Very possible in Australia with the pitches being so flat and consistent for the first 3 days. No way they'd beat England in most conditions IMO.

What happened to Siddle? Is he injured or just out of form and not selected? I thought he was pretty solid, if not spectacular.

Matthew Hoggard was a quality bowler actually...average 30 in tests is very good these days. 250 wickets. Always used the new ball well, Anderson and co can waste it at times.

He'd be straight on the team sheet if he was still prime.

Broad took 8 wickets in an innings for Notts today. Never know quite what to make of Broady...he's a weird one. Tries to do too much instead of the basics but then he does make a habit of getting wickets.

Interesting fights coming up...interesting prices too

Beibut Shumenov is 21/20 underdog against the rather untested Uzelkov. I was expecting it to be in Ukraine having seen those odds, but no its in the US.

Khoren Gevor is also a 21/20 underdog against Dmitri Sartison

I like Daniel Jacobs to beat Pirog at 8/11

Well, there is that, but I think he's got the knack better than most of the others.

One thing I do like is his willingness to keep the field up - too many captains slacken off regardless after the first 15 overs, but he usually leaves a catcher in there..... and takes the batting powerplay at the right time.

England are the worst for this, having to ask Jimmy Anderson to hit sixes :patsch

As for the Ashes.... the English should be favourites, the Aussie attack needs to get some teeth otherwise we could end up seeing some high scores.... the Aussies always look more comfortable batting at home being able to leave on length as well as line.

Might be a boring series :|

Yeah I don't think many teams have got the hang of that batting powerplay. I don't see any reason not to take it at 35 overs if you've got a good platform. Whats the point in taking it in the last 5 when you're already slogging. Maybe even use it after the first set of powerplays if you get a blinding start...capitalize. It's all very conservative.

I'd take it at the ball change, assuming I had good players at the crease.

No point leaving it too long or when you've got two new men in there.

The in-play on this darts is a piece of ****.

In the last game I picked up Klassen at 2/1 and Anderson at 7/4.

Painter is now 11/10 (Edit: now 9/4)

Walsh will be odds against before the end I'm sure of it.

Walsh now 7/4. (Not that I'm gonna back him)

It's write your own cheque time with these close games.

That price on Jacobs well worth it ....good price that he looks a live prospect...

Another fight i like is Tavoris Cloud 8/15 to beat Johnson... once again Tavoris looks something special...he can box and has power to boot ...Johnson at 41 will get exposed in this fight ..... a maximum on Tavoris Cloud on 8th August :good

Australia 15/8 to beat Pakistan. Surely it's a given that Pakistan will throw this away?

If they still had Younis and Yousuf wouldn't even be an issue. Bring back Inzamam !

A couple of years ago this would be odds on in Australia's favour..... imagine chasing 180 on a difficult deck with McGrath, Lee and Warne bowling :-(
