I do best in boxing and Icelandic football because I know people very close to a few teams that have a very intimate knowledge and its just really easy to have a huge edge on the bookmakers because there is simply no way their researchers know more about this league than I can get access to. It overcomes the price edge easily. Tennis not too bad, up and down but come out positive but I don't punt often, mainly just in the majors but occasionally big tour events. Worst is darts, i'm a mug when i bet on that. I don't tend to bet on anything else, in my university days I bet on a variety of different things and really followed the markets.
I generally do well out of boxing but despite the obvious interest I don't bet on fights that often. Don't have enough views of many of the lesser names to give me the confidence to back them. Still a nice little earner though. Don't often bet on horses either but I'm comfortably up on my exchanges there. Up and down with football. If I stuck with my confident picks I'd be comfortably up but I generally go for one too many bets and end up back where I started. Would change my ways but I enjoy the chase on small football bets as much as the profits. Golf is my downfall. Quite often have a go when the majors come round but have very rarely got a return out of it. Not got a great record with tennis either.
Once again, the ''Player Performance'' market has me interested on bet365. I'm looking at: Mohammad Aamer - 105 & Over @ 5/6 20 pts per wicket, 10 points for a catch and 1 point for each run scored . This lad really does look something special at his age especially. The conditions should suit. Look out for England to get rolled if they bat first on an overcast morning with Gul, Asif and Aamer all bowling well.
http://www.betfairfootball.com/prem...to-kids-in-europa-league-qualifier/?rfr=18057 Bit of a long shot but ive put FC Rabotnicki to score in both halves against Liverpool. The odds of 22/1 seemed way too high. Basically just betting on them to score in the first half then lay off.
I think England will be fine in the series. Aus made a complete hash of it and its been proven time and time again even the best Australians are clueless in England when the ball swings. They've all been found out time and time again. I think Pakistan's attack is being overrated because they rolled Australia in favourable conditions. Against Asif you just have to be patient. He's a class bowler but he loses nip later in his spells and drops below 80mph, then you can take advantage. He's obviously not completely match fit yet. Aamer is still pretty streaky, the Wasim comparisons are well off. Gul is average in my opinion. England have handled Kaneria okay in the past. It's a good attack but not what its being made out to be, they've had a couple of good games so what.
I think England's play against spin has improved out of sight in the past few years. When I first started watching cricket nearly 20 years ago :yikes they were like rabbits.... apart from Gatting, who mullered spinners. On the athletics - Mark Lewis Francis is 100/1 on Betfair to win the 100, ''it's a £5 and if he qualifies for the final and lay off'' job :yep
Yeah, England are at home at should win over a 4 game series against what is a very young and inexperienced Pakistan side. Tomorrow could present a good opportunity for Pakistan though - if they win the toss and field with some cloud cover. There is a theory that the ball swings more at Trent Bridge because of the new standhuh). That'll be their best chance I suspect. Gul probably is the weakest in the attack. I'd be worried about Asif though. I can just see him giving someone like Cook problems bringing the ball back into his pads.
Anybody that moves the ball around off stump will give Cooky problems. He's not the most talented player...hopefully he'll grind a few out. England have a good batting lineup, they should be able to get 300 and thats enough to put this Pakistan team under serious pressure. Shame Shahzad is out, looks quite promising. The workhorse Bresnan returns...
Jimmy Anderson is 5/2 to be englands leading wickets taker in the first innings. If the ball swings it could be good value
 Left Chambers alone in that 100m but stuck £3 EW on Obikwelu at 33/1. 2-5 all finished with 10.18 but Lewis-Francis snuck into 2nd. You pick anything up Beeston?
**** all - had a fiver at 100/1 on Lewis-Francis before the semi and couldn't lay it, so ran with it..... The last few weeks I've been really flat, a couple of decent wins and shocking losses..... surely the footy season will bring a change in fortune?
:verysad That's the way it goes sometimes. Always picks up when you stick with it. The start of the footy season never does anyone any good. Need to wait for a few weeks until things settle down and you can start to see some form. I've had a good week. Win on the boxing Friday, Aus-Pak cricket, final stage of the Tour de France and even a £1 treble on Rugby League :yep- Picked it up from Betting Zone because I noticed the fella had a good record so thought I'd test him out. Looking forward to this weekends boxing but not sure where my money's going yet.
