I think bookies pay out on the stoppage if it's a technical decision.

Was it Kessler vs Ward when a few people had Ward by decision and never got paid?

I suppose technically if the fight is stopped in the 11th round there can be an argument :think

Anyways..... wasn't expecting the £££ to be in there so was good. Makes up for my losses on the World Cup.

Some juicy fixtures coming this week.... a lot of them have got ''leave alone'' written all over them. Instead of a Friday treble and a Sunday treble, it will be maybe a double for round 25.

 

I had a shocking World Cup too. Switzerland beating Spain really ****ed me up, along with Brazil's self-destruction.

I went with it but just emptied out the few quid I had left in my willhill account so not too fussed.

Not much to bet on this week really. No boxing worth betting on and it's still too early to bet on the football imo.

 

I don't think anyone had a good world cup other than the bookies. All my mates were down quite a bit, the lads at one of our suppliers were all down £100+ as well.

Your local SL team...... probably Celtic Crusaders, or maybe Warrington up the M6.

For some reason there's never been a proposal for a Birmingham based SL franchise - is there much interest in rugby in those parts?

Rugby isn't big down here at all. The nearest Union team is Worcester and I don't think they get great crowds. It's got a be a more 'northern' sport.

 

I found very good odds posted in this thread time of the fight. And got Ward by UD on skybet. Didn't get paid but backed Ward for more so still made a lil bit.

not a fan of betting on events so far down the line but this one caught my attention, jess ennis to win gold in 2012 @ 5/4.. not an athletics expert but not sure of anyone who could beat her atm and she will only get better

 

Not really a good bet if you ask me especially at them odds anything can happen in that time.

She just won the European Title by a very small margin and she had to break two personal bests in two of the seven events so not a good bet imo.

Lurked around for a while and signed up not long ago, mainly for this thread... Just thought I could offer some clarification on the getting paid out on TD's when you bet on rounds or knock out.

With the round betting, you're not betting on a KO/TKO in that round, you're betting on the fight to finish in that round, the method doesn't matter (obviously the fighter you pick does).

I think the reason Joan Guzman wasn't paid out on Ward decision is because he bet on the exact mehtod of victory on SkyBet, and Ward won by TD (which is an option in that market) and not a UD. I had Ward by decision or TD at Betfred and they paid out.

That said, I was paid out on Amir Khan KO/TKO v Barrera with Coral, no idea if this was a mistake or not/or they settled the TD market as well, considering the odds of a Khan KO were 6/1 I'd imagine if it was a mistake they would of cancelled with my withdrawl so I would guess some bookies use their discretion.

Normaly if you bet on decision, it also includes TD, the only exception I know of is with Boylesports and the exact method of victory on Skybet. But the round betting is definately because you're only betting on the a) the fight to end in that round and b) who will win, the method doesn't matter...

Anyway, now i've posted i'll try and post some decent picks as well as nicking the ones that are posted on here
