Don't think you're missing anything. The idea is that at the start of the season each team is given a handicap that should make them all finish level on points and therefore each team is priced up at 15/1 (usually for the PL anyway).

Liverpool have started slightly better than the bookies would have predicted (until last night maybe anyway) and so their odds have shortened as the handicap isn't adjusted once the market is in play. Man Utd. have started worse then the bookies thought and so their odds have lengthened. I'd lke to bet that Chelsea have shortened from scratch as well?

It's a nice money spinner if you can pick em but a very difficult market to win on. Good luck. :good

ps - I had a small punt on both Liverpool and Newcastle at the start of the season despite knowing that it's a seriously tough market :?

 

Looks generous but I'm still not getting involved in the football for a while. Too early in the season.

 

I don't fancy West Brom there, mate. They always show very little intention of a league cup run. Last year they were taken to extra time by Rotherham at home and the season before that they went out to Harlepool at this stage.

 

I didn't realise that they have such a a poor record in the league cupatsch Oh well, only put a tenner on it so its not the end of the world if it doesn't come in.

The way I see it is that some of the fringe players for Albion will want to be considered for 1st team games so they will put a bit more effort in. We will see

Toney only has to land one punch to win so a bad bet imo. Couture apprently is old and has a glass chin.

 

Yes I am mate although I have thrown in a CL game as well. I have had a fiver on Sevilla, Bradford, Swansea, Reading and Watford.

Couture is 2/1 for 1st round stoppage and just in case toney lands he is 7/1 for the same ending.

Had a pretty successful day at the bookies after work today. Put £5 in the roulette machine and left with £100, and stuck £10 of that on Stoke to get relegated at 7/1.

 

Nice one... well apart from the tenner on Stoke. Don't see it myself.

 

I think it's definitely worth a shot at those odds, they are a ****ing awful side and the rumour down there towards the end of last season was that Pulis didn't exactly have the unanimous backing of his players.

It's worth a tenner at 7/1, I'd heard similar rumours myself.

Trouble is, there's lots of other **** teams that will be competing with each other for the last relegation place alongside Wigan and Blackpool.
