Does anybody think Ajax could be a canny bet at home vs Real Madrid? 9/4. Real Madrid have already qualified and have the Barcelona game coming up, so they're likely to rest players. Ajax need a win to keep hopes of qualifying alive.

at that price yes its always worth a cheeky fiver but i would worry that this is a mouriniho team he wont let them slack off and he will have all the sqad well drilled

i think Ajax is durable enough to pull out a draw but i don't think they will beat Madrid. but who knows, id stay away from it tho.

Marquez v Katsidis - Im thinking this will be UD to marquez and will have £100 on this. So far the bookies havent given the odds on exact method of victory, win by decision/technical is 11/4. Good bet?

I fancy kats in this. JMM is one of my favourite fighters but I think this is a dangerous fight for him. He slowed towards the end of his last fight and he will in this with kats constantly pressuring him. 5/2 is very good value in my opinion and well worth a tenner.

Do we agree with this on ESB? These are the odds on a comparison site showing the best odds out there.

James DeGale (2/7) Paul Smith (7/2) Draw (33)

I'm surprised DeGale is that favoured - it's a massive jump in class. Might stick some money on Smith, expecting to lose it, but will make a tidy sum if he wins!

Not surprised by them. Considering the odds Groves was to beat Anderson I'm not surprised DeGale, a gold medalist with a lot of hype is priced like that against Smith.

smith hasnt looked good in past fights. he is solid durable and knows his trade but against cheka a guy imported to look good against made him wild and off balance. also other fights he gets 2-d very quickly. and even though has accuracy and precision he gets to scrappy and loose.

i think logically degale is the sort of fighter he shouldnt be able to beat. it is a baby step up in class for degale but he looks solid doing it, smith seems to struggle a bit to much for my liking. he has earned it the tough way and good on him but...nah i think they are on the same wavelength.

if anything it's stamina that smith can take advantage in.

Yes, that's what I meant as it is against the rules for a boxer to bet on himself.;)

End of the day Frank Warren wouldn't put Degale in a fight he thought he was going to lose, especially at this stage of his career. That reality justifies those odds, imo.
