Haven't had a bet on the Football all week. Well actually I had some on the Exeter game last night but that was called off. Saving myself for the Boxing on Saturday night. Already lost the chance to bet on the Bellew and Gavin fights though. Think I'm going to have a go on Mike Jones by Decision and leave the rest until in-play. :think
Hopefully he laid off the bet after Barca scored. After having the luxury of being able to dodge a bullet in the Newcastle/Arsenal game I won't ever place a bet with a ''normal'' bookie again. **** that ****
well i think online youve just so much room for maneuver like last night before the game i had £30 on the line with a few first goal scorers and £20 on barca . after barca scored i just let it ride for a while then when the odds on the draw and more importantly the arsenal win got very very big , put a few quid on each (work out what you need to put on to cover losses ) so in the end only ended up £2.50 down rather than £30
I know it's been explained before but what is laying a bet off. I get the principal off it but would like to know the ins and outs. Do all bookies do this? If not who is the best to use?
i think they all use bet fair and do it properly but i simply just go on live betting and put a bit of money (do the maths , as its differant everytime) on the othr results either to cut losses or secure winnings
I've never known a normal bookie do it, the only way is just to bet against yourself in play when the odds have changed. On Betfair or Betdaq it's easy, there's two sets of boxes, one for backing and one for laying, to lay a bet off you just click on the box and then it'll ask you how much you want to lay off and state your liability should the bet be matched. Example..... using decimals Team A vs Team B Before kick off..... Team A - 2.00 Team B - 4.00 Draw - 3.30 After half an hour, team A scores, so you may see something like this..... Team A - 1.30 Team B - 12.00 Draw - 5.50 If you put £1000 on team A, you would ordinarily win £1000 profit. You can lay off as much or as little as you like, your stake, your stake and profit, or your stake and some profit. If you lay your stake off at 1.30, it will cost you £300 of your profit, so you'd be £700 up if team A wins, or even if B wins or a draw. Or you can guarantee a profit regardless, £500 profit on the two other outcomes will cost you £150, so you'd be £550, £500 or £500 up respectively depending on the outcomes. What I sometimes do is lay off my stake and part of my profit, then when the odds go down more lay off a load more, so if the miracle happens you are rewarded even further. It's something I always do on the football especially, if my team is 2 up just lay it off and watch the game in peace. The difference in your profit is minimal by that time anyway. It's a good way of building a decent pot without taking unnecessary risks. Sure you might win less than you could by hanging on, but laying protects you from shockers like the Newcastle/Arsenal game.
2 out of 3 and a non runner only got the double but niked a small profit saturday looks good will post the goals galore later
This week's Super League fixtures...... Hull FC vs Leeds Salford vs St. Helens Catalans vs Wakefield Castleford vs Huddersfield Harlequins vs Crusaders Bradford vs Wigan Warrington vs Hull KR A few interesting games here, no odds up yet seemingly. My treble for the weekend..... St. Helens Crusaders Wigan If you fancy adding another game take Leeds. If we actually turn up for the first half we should beat Hull.
That's a steal. After seeing how easily a newly assembled Crusaders side defeated them by 30 points.... Saints should destroy them. They're quicker around the park and generally a settled side, managing to fight back for a draw against last season's champions at the weekend. If you fancy a small single as a value bet Castleford are the best part of 2/1.
