I've no idea why anybody would back something at 1.01.

    It's a grand to win a tenner.

If you've got a grand's worth of tenners in your hand it's a pretty fat wedge, one more isn't going to make any difference.

If anything, I'd be tempted to just lay them and see what happens.... there were a few examples in the cricket world cup of 1.01's losing. England vs Ireland, South Africa to score 300 against India (270/3 then 296/6 with a couple of overs left) and Arsenal obviously vs Newcastle

As a general rule I don't touch anything below 1.5, not worth it.

Its crazy. You see it on every market. People automatically lay 1.01's and automatically back it. On every market. Just click money waiting to back or lay. Its like picking up pennis from under a steamroller. To think someone put up a£1,400 bet and won £140,000. Insane.

If I've got a bet on say a football match at say 2.5 and gets to 1.01, I'll lay it automatically.

The cost is next to nothing and I can watch in peace.

Maybe I'm missing a trick though. Say you've got £100 on a game at 2.5, it gets to 1.01, you can lay and guarantee a profit of about £145.

    So you'd go from.....

    Team A -£100
    Team B + £150
    Draw -£100

    to

    Team A +£145
    Team B +£145
    Draw +£145

Or, lay an extra £2k which would only cost you £20. If the score stays as is, you've still got £125, if the losing team scores there will be a switch in the odds and then you can either stick with it or lay them off even more.

    i.e.

    Team A +£2000
    Team B +£125
    Draw +£2000

If team A score, you can then put £1000 on team B at whatever the odds and nail a couple of hundred extra.

    So you'd be....

    Team A +£1000
    Team B +£125 (plus 1000*the odds)
    Draw +£1000

Worth a try. There's not much difference between £125 & £145 is there, still a win after all.

I did try a system similar to this last year with womens tennis. Which is the most ridiculous sport imaginable. So many chokers and being on serve means nothing every point is practically a clay court point. Of course its rare a 1.01 every occurs in womens tennis you are laying at 1.2-1.1 serving for a match which after a few months is too much to be trading at. Very small edge in trading that way.

It is a nice idea but if you lay every single bet off like that and they all lose it will add up. Just waiting for that one big payoff.
