King's a good kid, his finishing was woeful tonight but he ran the channels well. Better than Brandy thats for sure. Thought they were unlucky, Liverpool fluked it. United were the best team pretty much from when Liverpool scored and should have had a pen and they lucked out in the end. King, Eikram and Macheda are the only ones with a chance IMO not including Tosic who should be in the first team squad after this performance and his standing in the game, he ain't a kid. James and Hewson are pretty average in midfield, don't look better than Gibson did at this level and Gibbo ain't getting any games as it is. Dudgeon is relatively impressive at left-back, De Laet is okay but is a shite centre-half.
I think Tosic is just there to fill out a bit he is still very small for the premiership. My dad was watching it with me tonight and kept going on about Matty James, Hewson and Norwood but i can't see any of them getting into the team. Cleverly and Drinkwater are better i think but are on loan at the minute. Dudgeon isn't the best but he puts 100% in every game seen an interview with him the other day he comes off exactly how he plays. Think he just loves mincing people De Laet is decent but far too old to be hanging about in the reserves. Think he is there because he plays anywhere along the back 4 and does a decent job. He thinks he is Scholes with his passing as well for some reason.
He's small but what did they expect when they got him? He was always known as 'Bambi' by his team-mates for being so slight. Hopefully he's getting used to the pace and strength but I'm sure the Serbian league was full of brutes. Either he's good enough on the ball or he's not, thats what should make or break him. I think he's better on the right even though he's left footed, because he's not that pacey or a traditional type winger he's better cutting in, but he'll probably get more opportunities on the left due to Nani's inconsistency. All the midfield is pretty average. Tidy, but nothing that marks them out. Fletcher was a ****ing genius at this level and still took years to become a fixture of the first team so they really need to stand out and they don't. I'd include Corry Evans in that, not even sure what his best position is. Think he's younger than Hewson though, Hewson is about 20 I'm sure so he has zero chance.
He looked dangerous on the right tonight first time i really took notice. The left wing spot is as open as it will ever be i think, with all the talk about Silva in january i think Tosic is going to have to work his balls off to show what he can do or he will be 3rd or 4th choice without even getting a chance. I reckon he will be there for another 2 years at least but showing he can play on the right makes him look the more attractive option over park for me. Evans is 19 i just checked for some reason i thought he was younger he needs to get his arse in gear if he wants to stay. His tackling looked good tonight but his shots are awful and Progba, Morrison and Hussain coming in behind him won't help his chances either.
I think Tosic played on the right for Serbia when he scored twice against South Africa. That seems his best position where he can easily cut in, he doesn't go on the outside of players, he's more of a player that links up and makes little passes. Considering the technique he has on long shots, corners and free-kicks he's more than worth a go especially if Nani is not more productive, unfortunately Valencia is likely to always have the place on the right. I think you've got to really stand out at this level to have a chance of making it. I remember David Jones looked a lot better than most of our midfield players and he's on the bench at Wolves. Not a bad career and a few of these lads might do the same but to have a chance at United you have to kick ass at this level. Like Eikrem and King seem to be doing this season. But its only really them and Macheda/Petrucci last season that have been doing that. But to be honest if you get a player each year that makes the first team squad I think you are doing well. It was Evans the last few seasons, Fletcher before that and it seems Welbeck is next so the reserve team is justifying itself.
I know Andy and djoc are around so... What y'all make of Valuev/Haye odds and betting? Valuev was further out a few weeks ago, I'm disapointed they've come in. How do you think it will change as we approach the fight. I mean, if I want to take Valuev should I get on him now while I can still get 13/8? Will British money come in for Haye?
http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=21312&more=1 I suggest you bet now.... Valuev will look intimidating at the weigh in and come in 307-310 instead of his usual 320. Valuev has been looking better and better in shape since the Lyakovich fight.

I remember Jones never thought he was going to make the utd team but thought he would make it else where. I remember thinking ritchie Jones would make it but i think he is playing for Yeovil. The ones i see at the minute making it would be the same as yours but maybe adding Robbie Brady and Hussain. I don't think Revel Morrision will he hasn't really impressed me to be honest. See Utd are linked with the German keeper Adler wouldn't be a bad signing he's a decent keeper. Obertan is set to make his debut tomorrow according to sky
I don't really fancy either of them, I don't know much about Smith. I always heard he was talented but his record doesn't back that up... he must be a great gym fighter. Quigley wasn't too impressive against Dodson, decent counterpuncher but nothing out of this world. I'd tentatively favour Smith. I've done well the past few weeks with Bet365 in terms of stake/return. 20 @ 5/1 Booth T/KO 2 @ 20/1 Rhodes £10 free bet rolled over 3 times (10 @ 1.6 football treble, 10 @ 8/15 Independiente, 10 @ 4/6 Elena Dementieva) ------------------------------------------- Total stake = £22 Total return = £180 :yep
ive gone with the 11/8 that the fight doesnt go the distance its the only bet i could find that i liked as this is a close grudge match which makes pickin the winner hard
The more I think about it, the more I fancy Smith by KO at 2/1..... even though I will be supporting Quigley. So much for possibly going for Quigley on points at 7/2! Most likely I am going to leave it..... Leeds are at home tomorrow which is pretty much a banker.
