    Frank maloney has stated that its a matter of time before david price vacates the title

    Im guessing that a win over thompson and he leaves the domestic game behind for good

    So who do the board put forward to compete for the vacant title and do the take the opportunity up

    Dereck chisora (world level only now)
    Michael sprott (has said he doesnt want it but..)
    John mcdermott (english title holder)
    audley harrison
    matt skelton
    sam sexton

    or an outsider richard towers,gary cornish,martin rogan,ian lewison

    That really is grim reading in terms of contenders, dont see Chisora going for it,
    he would probably get bored halfway through it, Sprott not done now ? Lets give the fans what they want to see, Richard Towers vs Gary Cornish, someones 0 has to go.

    If delboy was interested then him v sprott would be worthwhile

    But presuming he isnt you could have sprott/harrison/sexton v mcdermott

    Anything other than that you are in trouble

    Pretty sure Sprott wont be amongst it or delboy, Harrison loses hes done tomorrow, he wins the minimum he goes for is the euro title, Sexton vs Mcdermott ? Wouldnt watch that tbh, give Towers a go, someone different.

    I am just about old enough to remember Meade/Ferris, it does not get much grimmer than that.

    Heavyweight boxing in the UK is arguably (depth wise between those rated 6-15 in the UK), as good as anything we have known in the last Century and a half.

    And also just because somebody has been at british level before shouldnt mean they are not valid contenders

    I might be wrong but harrison,sexton,mcdermott have never lifted title have they

    Wouldnt it be a burning ambition of your carear to do so

    Chisora vs. Sprott wouldn't be the worst fight ever but I doubt Dereck would be up for it. Much more likely is McDermott vs. Harrison if he is unsuccessful on Saturday.

    Harrison would bang Mcdermott out easy. Towers vs Mcdermott is the fight id like to see. BUT theres no gareentee that Price will win his next fight so he may not be giving up the British title just yet.

    No but if price loses to Thompson then consolidating makes sense,so I think then sprott comes back into the equation.he is durable and experienced

    A price v sprott scrap if he lose to Thompson

    A Harrison v McDermott scrap if he wins and vacates

    Well there my picks anyway,decent fights that would interest the boxing fan

    McDermott vs Sexton would be a good fight to watch for the title.

    Dillian Whyte would be close to being ready if he wasn't banned.
