A mate of mine knows Sean Hughes..... a good lad by all accounts, as is Kurt Bromberg. Who would you say is the best journeyman in the UK right now?
I think it would be safe to assume he would mangle you.... honestly... all I can suggest is get fit, and go down to a local journeyman gym and ask to do some heavy sparring.. Please report your findings as soon as you regain consiousness. :good
Billy Smith was, good balance, nice punch selection- good-ish defence. Not sure really a lot of them go through spells of good and bad form. Someone like Thorpey can be a handful, he's a banger at area level too. Antony Hanna was in good form recently. Someone like Kristian Laight (boxed for england as an am) and James Ambler nice boxer... their all decent and bring something decent to the ring. I've always had a deeper appreciation of the lower level guys then perhaps the pampered champs. For me there is a market there. They don't care about records. Mally McIver Vs Thorpey and myself Vs Hardcastle was considered one of the best small hall shows of that year. I loved that. People just wanted to see good fights. Not exceptional fighter vs bum/ journeyman.
Tony Booth had some decent skills and a bang. At one point he had the most wins of any active british fighter!
Also at the Froch Dirrell fight Matt Scriven tonked a Debutant called Maughn. I believe he's a woodhall prospect. Scriven realised quite early on that the guy was frozen and set about him with some Hayemakers. Booth holds a win over Omar Sheikh
:good:good Agree with you there mate. Ambler I've seen give a few boxers absolute nightmares. Dunno if you'd class him as a journeyman but I rate Gary Reid quite highly compared to his record. People like Al Hamidi too a real handful.
Lightweight Karl Taylor beat Dingaan Thoebela, the former WBA super middleweight champion of the world. Trust me that win poons all others.
Ambler beat Nigel Travis who was a top england amateur and a class boxer. Al Hamidi well lets just say he knows what his job is.
Baguley is a good one I think. Take away those bull**** one point losses and he'd have a winning slate, against some decent fighters too.
I think it was this guy, it was on the Maccarinelli Braithwaite undercard. Looking at the names on his record I think it is a fair assumption he would bash me up.
