A mate of mine has just got a shot at the British masters title. Id like to know what level this is considered to be? is it better than an area title? Is it close to a regular British title? thanks

the british title can be won inside the top 10 or thereabouts, and the masters title is from about 10 - 20 in the ratings ranks

    i think !!!

Thats a pretty decent level then - considering its only his 8th or 9th fight.

:good Exactly.... I fought for the Super feather and light welter versions. I would put it on a par with a well defended area title.

Will the fight still be at Welter weight? He has looked good at that weight, wish him luck.

When is he in for the fight?

AA Lowe is going to have a fight on his hands against ‘Chiv’. Chiverton is getting better with the fight, was a former Junior ABA champion and has beaten Tony Randall, who won the Masters belt at middleweight, a couple of years ago. Karl also beat a highly-rated welterweight from Coventry in December, Pat Cowdell-trained southpaw Sean McKervey, at the Holiday Inn in Birmingham.

Should be a cracking fight. I’m going up as a spectator and am looking forward to it.

A couple of people have told me chiverton is quite handy, but andy looked alot better in his last fight (after a bit of a slow start). He just needs to sit down on his punches and take his time a bit more. (not that im any expert, much easier from this side of the ropes.)

Fights at the end of may. Andy used to box in the army and is now trained by Carl Greaves and spars with Esham Pickering.
