    Very well put

I used to like Kellerman, but some of his commentaries lately have been second rate.

HBO's production quality is superb and I know what people mean when they say the US coverage gives it that big fight feel. However, if you were watching the weekend's fight stateside you would've had to put up with the completely unprofessional Kellerman stating that Calzaghe looked like 'a washed up Trinidad' in the 2nd round. Needless to say that by the later rounds Kellerman was virtually sobbing, and by the time he got to the ring to interview Calzaghe his mind was so befuddled after seeing his and HBO's idol beaten that he threw Chad Dawson's name at Calzaghe, a Showtime fighter that HBO has never even covered. In Britain, Woodhall makes Kellerman sound like a schoolboy and if you could combine Woodhall's analysis with HBO's lead commentary you'd have a perfect combination.

The biggest problem with HBO is their tendency to sack swing and trash talk.

The HBO production team, together with Ian Darke and Richie Woodall - Buncey in the studio for entertainment.

    Perfect!

I like HBO I must say. I watched the fight on HBO then downloaded the fight with Setanta coverage for a different perspective, and it felt small time in comparison.

    Plus Steward loves Calzaghe.

Depends who's doing it. Darke's very good and either Watt or McCrory are good partners (not in the way you were thinking) for him. The rest are rubbish. I think Rawling's awful.

On the American side, I don't like the showtime guys, don't seem to know what they're talking about. On HBO Lampley annoys the hell out of me, regularly screams his head off about punches that missed and so on and just never shuts up for two seconds, also he clearly knows nothing about boxing. Kellerman's just an idiot. Lewis isn't very good, too hesitant in front of the mic. Merchant I like because he calls a spade a spade. Steward is good and tries to bring the others down to earth.

Give me a video of an old fight with Don Dunphy or Reg Gutteridge anyday (commentating I mean, just thought I should make that clear in case there's some very strange porno out there that I haven't heard about)

Do American commentators blatantly sackswing worse than British ones, or is it just me?

It is clear they hate more blatantly.....

9 times out of 10, I really enjoy Richie Woodhall's stuff.

10 times out of 10 I really enjoy Duke McKenzie too, but for rather different reasons..."He's gone, Jim!" "I gave that round even, Jim!" "His legs have gone!"

Woodhall is gonna be a good trainer. I see a lot of potential in him from his commentary and his work in the corner. He tells his guy the correct tactical advice, but he has empathy too. He knows when to gee a guy up or when he needs a morale boost.

    Best young trainer around.

    Yanks by far.

You could have the biggest fight in the world but if you stick John Rawling or Woodhall in there it will sound like an ABA final. I like Darke though.

Has to be the HBO team. All great wordsmiths and really set the scene for a fight.

    Pretty young.

Look at the established trainers, they are old.

He's actually only 40 years old.

I would say thats still pretty young for a trainer.
