British P4P top 10

Again depends how your basing your p4p list. Is it just going off current form or do we take talent into the equation. Is form more important to you or is ability.

The thing is brooks current forms not great either this year to be up in second. I think it should be ability first and foremost then record/achievements who they ve beat. Recent form etc can go above ability but needs to be weighed up for me. Otherwise we re just compiling a list of current form. A list of who,s got the best recent wins.

Can make cases for a few others but that's how I'd have it .

I'd of had Fury No1 if wasn't retired

 

Can't see how Fury can be number 1. I love the fella and his win vs Klit is the best single win out of anyone on the list but the reason for his effectiveness is his size.

Are you telling me if he was 147lb he would be Kell Brook?

That's the point I was trying to make earlier in the thread to the people who had things like Anthony Joshua at #1. If you take size out of the equation then it's either Frampton or Brook at the top as they have the best boxing skillsets and should be ranked the highest in P4P lists accordingly.

 

The only reason Fury beat Wlad was down to size? From looking at the two men head to head, he basically had an inch on him in height and the edge in reach.

His awkwardness, ring smarts and judgement of distance all played a massive part in a huge win away from home.

Brook is a big talent no question, but the only top fighter he has beaten is Porter.

 

I agree that Fury shouldn't be ranked number 1 even when active. The Klitschko win really isn't as great as every makes out. Wlad looked awful, was massively on the decline at the time and people forget that he really struggled with Bryant Jennings the fight before that.

Frampton's win over Santa Cruz is better and I'd even put Brook's win against an in form Porter at the time above it. Fury always goes on about AJ and other heavyweights fighting bums when he had literally fought no one half decent before Wlad.

 

Chisora is more than half-decent, and Hamer just beat Erkan Teper.

 

This is for the British posters of this forum. I didn't want to make a thread just to ask a question about former P4P British fighter Carl Froch. I always really liked this cat, what's he up to now? Did he land a TV gig somewhere in the UK that I might able to watch him? Boxnation SkySports?

 

He's mad busy telling everyone he has fought in front of 80000 at Wembley, you know ?

 

I agree with a lot of what you said. Brook probably wasn't the best example. Frampton perhaps. I just don't think HW's match up well in a p4p sense. They just aren't in good enough shape in a lot of cases, including Fury.

Kudos to his ring smarts, his awkward style would give anyone fits and look forward to seeing the big fella back.
