Yes but they did not participate in the modern era of boxing , while i said im not a student of the older generation that doesnt mean i dont know anything about the old days big man , after all i am a boxing fan !!!!!!

Its not up for debate that boxing has evolved it really isnt , imagine what Mike Tyson would have done to James Braddock , or Pacquiao to Lamotta , boxing has just evolved into a more technical and scientific approach , like any sport it has evolved , and todays fighters are better than yesterdays fighters in very department for several reasons !!!!!!

pac to Lamotta:lol: The man who beat that super old fashioned guy SUGAR RAY ROBINSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And for what reasons? The less frequent times they fight? The amount of top fighters that don't face the other 'best'? The padding they wear on their gloves? The massive amount of unecessary titles and weight classes?

Which just goes to show how weak the division can be at the moment. Quigley is a fat middle weight and Smith is pretty damn much the worst fighter on the planet every time he steps into the ring. DeGale would beat Smith with ease even now.

Smith would knock degale on his fat arse, and teach him a lesson, groves would be a more "live" opponent, but would still lose on points at least.
end of the day it aint gonna happen is it really?

I dont rate either. But Degale is better for a guy whos had 6 fights than smith is for a guy whos had 28.

De Gale by default - Smith is shite for a British title holder as is Dodson and Quigley.

The sooner the belt is away from this awful scouse merry go round the better. De Gale, Groves and T Dickinson could all win this in the next few months - are thay ready for 12 rounders? probably not but they could take these 3 imo.

I am one of Travis Dickinson's biggest fans on here, but he wouldn't win the title within a few months IMO. Groves and DeGale have a chance by the end of the year though I believe.

What the **** has Degale proved to say he could compete at british title level? Nothing? Smith proved it by having a learning curve, and beating the guy in front of him.
I keep saying it, but there is so much wrong with degale in terms of his punching style, footwork, and the fact he is a showboating ****.
Smith by contrast works hard, does basiscs well, and although i would admit that he doesn't perform all the time, he is worth 10 degales
