Mate, you're beginning to hang yourself a little bit you know.

Yes boxers have changed. One of the biggest changes is in conditioning (which you rightly pointed out), where maybe some of the heavies of eras gone by would now be cruisers, LHW or even SPMW (chortle). Yes the way boxers fight has also changed a bit too, but technical differences arent all that much different. And fighters like Pep and SRR would dominate any era.

Crude sluggers also exist in every era with mixed success (Nigel Benn? - not a criticism by the way, he's one of my all time favourites).

If you dont know much about fighters in past eras, then just dont say anything. Dont make sweeping statements when you clearly havent seen enough to back it up.

Dodson Quigley was entertaining but strange, Dodson as you say looked ok in some rounds but his punch resistence looked very poor and to me seemed a slightly washed up fighter. Perhaps Quigley is just more heavy handed than I thought but Dodson having a tight struggle with Nathan King prior to this fight does support my theory.

Havent seen the King fight, so I'll take your word for it.

But Quigley can bang a bit and has a solid chin, so I just took it as being an unlucky night for Dodson given that he dominated for the most part but a great night for Quigley (proper Balboa stuff!).

No , your probably right , Pep and SRR would get on in any era , and the natural talent they had would see them right in todays game for sure .

But to say boxing has not evolved is ****in banana's look at the fine detail coaches look into fights these days , look at the condition of the fighters now , some of the worlds best defensive fighters ever are todays men , sweet pea , Floyd , Winky etc , the basic weapons such as a jab have been mastered by todays fighters , im not critisising these men im just pointing out that in every aspect of the sport boxing has evolved for the better as the sport has gotten older .

    Conditioning?

Old timers were so finely tuned they didn't boildiwn and fought competitive fights maybe once a month.

I think boxing has taken a downward turn to be honest.

Winky? An alltime great defensive fighter?!? Very good yes, but not an alltime great.

    Basically, you know **** all.
