I see the BBBoC have set a fight between 2 younh featherweights, Paul Appleby and Martin Lynsey. as a final eliminator for John Simpsons british featherweight title. I reckon Appleby has bags of potential but is still i bit raw and John can use his experience to pick holes in his defence though havent seen Lyndsay though ive heard hes very talented. Anyone know more of him and is he ready for this step up in class? Also anyone think either of them have the beating of Simpson? good chance John could be fighting for the european soon so\could end up a very big scalp for either fighter if they get the chance and John can go to Italy and win the euro title.
too soon...he's barely out of the stage of fighting guys with losing records. should give him 2 or 3 fights against top ten opposition first. then again, he does have the talent to do it now
Simpson wasn't as good as he can be last night. Al Hamidi was an awkward little guy and was able to land alot of jabs on John.
Too soon for both of them imo , I've only seen bits of Lindsay but if you want to learn more about him talk to the guys on the Canadian forum . Lindsay is based in Canada most of the time now and has fought there twice(and on tv) recently . He captured the IBF Youth Featherweight title/bauble belt 2 months ago on the undercard of Molitor v Ndlovu . I'm a big fan of Appleby and see his as a great prospect , however Lindsay himself has had a lot of good things said about him and from what I've seen he does look good . If it goes ahead I reckon it'll be a great fight , one where both winner and loser have a very bright future .
