Jamie Moore vs Michael Jones.
Don’t remember if it was for a title but Paul Appleby v Liam Walsh?..one of the Walsh bros anyway, was a cracking fight.multiple knockdowns and brilliant atmosphere.
Was that the first show on BN, iirc?
Maybe not a classic, but Contehs win over Finnigan was a master class of boxing skills, his movement was sublime, in and out with fast and hurtful combos, looking lean and very fit, what a fine fighter he was in his prime. stay safe guys.
We had the era domestic level guys were in great scraps all time likes derry Matthews, John Simpson Paul Appleby ,
Kevin Mitchell, john Murray ant crolla Martin lindsay. Carl johannsen They were all same sort weights.
No sure m8 though it’s round about the right timeframe.was at York hall i think.
Michael Brodie vs Neil Swain is one that sticks in the memory. Not too sure if Kev Leushing vs Chris Saunders was for the British, but a cracking fight any way.
Friday night show. I was at that one.
Jamie Moore vs Michael Jones. I am sure Jamie went in at short notice to fight Jones, who was a good fighter. Jamie pulled off a cracking victory and also won the rematch.
Kostas Petrou v Rocky Kelly
George Feeney v Ray Cattouse
David Pearce v Neville Meade
Tony Willis v Ian McLeod
Terry Marsh v Clinton McKenzie
All from the 80's.
Kelly was in some heart stopping wars. He also fought memorable eliminators against Tony Brown and Chris Sanigar.
Steve Sims v Jimmy Flint. (Final eliminator).
Also, from the early 90's, Wally Swift v Tony Collins.
There are probably more venerable members such as @mcvey and @MikeCannon, who could tell you about blood drenched wars featuring the likes of Henry Rhiney, Pat Thomas and Pat McCormack.
I don't live in your country but how about the Kirkland Laying vs Colin Jones bouts? I've never seen the full fights but from what I've seen they were great bouts.
I remember seeing a bout where Heorl Graham was fighting an up and comer for the British title and he gave a masterful performance but the opponent was injured and I think couldn't box anymore unfortunately. I remember that fight got alot of hype.
That would be Rod Douglas, who beat Nigel Benn as an amateur.
While only an eliminator for the title, Mark Kaylor v Erroll Christie, which despite the notoriety, was a brilliant back and forth fight.
What about Ryan Rhodes vs Jamie Moore?
Maybe it wasn’t a title fight.
I can’t remember.
Great fight though.
