Having digested this list a little more I think Jamie Moore is very hard done by to see some of those names above him considering his resume and recent performance level. Moore has beaten solid domestic names in Jones and Facey, British middleweight champ Macklin, world rated Lujan, and the European champ Picirillo. Not just that, but his recent performance level has been excellent blowing out European level guys easily and looking superb doing so. I think he'd be more than a little dumbfounded to see Mitchell who has a largely padded record except Johanneson, and Murray similarly except for a couple of semi-decent domestic names.
Yup, that's fair. Just had a look at Mitchell's record and there really is very little of note in there.
McCloskey could and should be above Brook any which way you want to look at it. I could only put that down to either English bias or getting too caught up in the hype of Brook's talent. McCloskey has beaten names like Bazan and Tontchev, Nigel Wright, and has been fighting at European level really considering he beat Lynes impressively who was former champ on the wrong end of a decision in Italy. What has Brook done...really. He's fought one guy that could be considered British level in McIntyre, his recent defences have been a joke.
It could only be on his perceived p4p skill. I don't really buy that when a guy like McCloskey has much more substance to his record and is not noticeably less talented. Maybe he'll finally get his dues when he beats M'baye.
Brook is a talent but he has had 2 good fights that stand out. This is on power with Afalobi who has 2 fights that stand out against better opposition. I would make a case for a few others to be higher than Brook i think a few too many are buying into his hype
Apparently Ola considers himself a Brit. He doesn't make my list as he hasn't had enough fights against the top level to be in the British P4P list although i have mitchell in mine so it sort of contradicts myself. Getting myself in trouble here
Ola could be on the fringes of the list for sure. He looks pretty skilled and has a win over a former incumbent. That's the case I could make for him. He needs to get out of the sparring partner routine. He let too many rounds slip away. He ain't gonna knock everybody out.
Enzo was crazy in that fight he threw more punches than any i have ever seen him throw. I had him winning the fight before the stoppage but you could tell right away what Ola was up too. I knew after 3 or 4 rounds Ola could take anything Enzo was giving and he didn't like what he was getting back. If Ola put in a good display against his next challenger then i would give him the nod ahead of fighters like Mitchell and Murray I'm just waiting to see if it was a one off thing or that was the Ola we can expect to see in future
I agree about Kell Brook, but I just think this guy is a great talent though, but true, he needs to fight alot more quality before hes considered!AND FROCH SHOULD BE ONE!!!!
Yes, but you were still wrong at the time. Hatton had to get beat for Haye to get the number 1 spot, before that Hatton was the legit number 1. Otherwise you'll have to admit you were wrong all along when the Beeb puts Froch at number 1 in the event that Wlad starches Haye....;O)
1 David Haye 2 Carl Froch 3 Ricky Hatton 4 Ola Afolabi 5 Junior Witter 6 Amir Khan 7 Clinton Woods 8 Jamie Moore 9 Paul McCloskey 10 Rendall Munroe A bit rushed.
