It used to GENERALLY be the case that most American fighters were exciting to watch, whilst some Brit fighters were rather dull. How things have changed!! The US now has hit and run merchants(Mayweather),hit and circle the ring snoozers (Hopkins) and hit and cover up like a tortoise(Winky). All world class fighters no doubt but were's the excitment?

Meanwhile Britain has rough tough toe to toe brawlers (Sir Richard), marauding massive combination punchers(Calzaghe),and exciting concussive one punch hitters(Haye,Maccarenelli)

Which is probably why Calzaghe can draw 60,000 at home. Sir Richard can attract 10,000 fans to fly half way round the world, whilst Mayweather,Hopkins,Wright et al (the exception being Oscar) barely sell out their own living rooms!! :hey

Yeah, Sprott and Williams are real exciting Brits

All countries have some exciting fighters and some boring fighters (except for maybe Germany, where there seems to be very little by the way of stylistic difference).

williams is great to watch it's only the men he faced made it truely horrible, williams beefed up to rematch skelton for the extra wieght and power and dominance of the ring...skelton thought **** it...and did sugar ray impressions all night.shame

I was talking about world class fighters, not the likes of Sprott and Williams. The point being is that the USA used to have exciting fighters such as Leonard, Hearns, Hagler, Tyson, and now they have dull ones for the most part.

Someone always has top pick fault! I don't think the poster meant that every English fighter is more exciting than every American, There are always exeptions to every rule, just that on comparing the top guys the Brits are without doubt more fun to watch.

yep Williams can be very good to watch and his last fight with Gammer and first fight with Skelton were real good ones........he even made Audley look entertaining in their rematch .
