Brits. admit it, Bernard hopkins beat Calzaghe

The poll results are not surprising. Most Calzaghe fans wouldn't have an idea who won a fight if the promoters forgot to pay for an announcer. Drinking and hooliganism is more their speed, I'll tell you!

 

BHop won but not enough to be considered a robbery. A close fight and Joe`s best win. lololol

Just checked Box Rec and Hopkins lost. Just accept this as a fact

 

no way Hopkins can win 12 rounds over a high volume fighter when hes got the lungs of a 43 year old. 12 rounds to too much for an old man.

Borenard lost every round after the 3rd and was totally outclassed

 

Why do people debate this terrible fight?......this fight was bad look for both Joe and Bernard.

 

Like I always said the biggest loser in this shite fight were the fans! I always said to myself that I would never ever go back and watch that garbage again but the last time this original thread popped up I went back to make sure I had scored it properly the first time. Both times I had Bhop winning by 2 rounds, but it was not a robbery because it was so close. Bhop had the cleaner and more effective punches and Joe had INeffective aggression. The only way I can see someone scoring the fight for joe is if they really do not know what to look for or they are a big fan of Joe. It was close but a clear win for Bhop

 

Hopkins vs Calzaghe fight is the first fight amongst elite fighters where I felt both fighters deserved to lose this fight, no lie they both deserved an L on their records for this fight, calling it a draw would be too generous to both of them.

 

This was indeed a terrible fight between a low skilled slapfighter and a dirty fighting old man injury faker. They should have called it a draw, then fined both of them for impersonating professional boxers.

 

I scored this fight for Hopkins.
Unlike some judges. I just can't give a guy a round for ineffective aggression. That's exactly what Calzaghe was doing. He was being aggressive, but it was not effective aggression. I thought Hopkins won rounds due to landing cleaner more effective punches and with the extra point for the knock down, I really thought he won the fight.
