i find it hilarious how Joe thought he was a bad ass against an old Roy, but when fighting hopkins he looked like a scared little boy. he had the look of defeat and desperation on his face.

mm but in the rounds that Calzaghe was being an ineffective aggressor, Hopkins ws often doing nothing at all due to his age.

Thats why Calzaghe wins, he was the younger fitter man being an inept aggressor but at least he was still doing something, which gives him the SD.

Bernard cant expect to win late rounds doing nothing.

Still, its pretty amazing that at 43 he can come close to beating the WBO SMW champ of the last 10 years who is still postprime, so its obvious to anyone but the nuthuggers that Bhop would have comfortably have UD him if they had fought when he had the lungs for 12 rounds in 2002 Calzaghe is very lucky to have escaped picking up that loss back then.

Dreadful fight which could have been scored either way.

You lost me immediately though, with "he controlled the pace". The reason Hopkins struggled, looked uncomfortable and began faking injuries was precisely because he couldn't control the pace. Calzaghe forced him to work (and think) non-stop, which exhausted him, allowing Joe to win rounds on activity alone.

I suppose it really depends how you judge a fight, if you look for workrate, punches thrown/landed and general ring leadership then Calzaghe took it hands down, but if you look for better quality punches landed and ring savvy then i guess you could make an arguement for Bhop, i thought Calzaghe won on workrate alone but if the Mayweather vs Castillo 1 judges were in town the 100% Bhop would have won a wide decision....just depends on who shows up and ticks the boxes

excuse me, what is your personal issue with me?

We all know you hate anything anti-Calzaghe. But I have just put up a pro-Calzaghe post in a sea of anti-Calzaghe posts, and you singled out mine, despite me supporting Calzaghe here quite clearly.

Please try not to let your personal hatred for people on this forum cloud your judgement, and stop stalking me, thanks.

Hopkins is one of my favourite fighters but I admit that Calzaghe beat him. I was shocked that it was a SD because I thought Calzaghe was around 2/3 points clear

I thought Hopkins won rounds 1'2'3 but not rounds 4'5'6 for the first 6 rounds as I remember

    I respectfully disagree.

(but I'm no Brit so I guess this thread is not for me)
