    pretty much.

one day its the contract the next it's back problems then it's break time and then his wife is pregnant and then he just trying to garner more interest so on and so on.

An obvious pattern of being yellow!

Throughout the history of boxing, there IS a history of just two fighters, revitalizing the division.

    Holyfield/Qawi
    Dempsey/Willard
    Louis/Schmeling
    Ali/Liston
    Tyson/Berbick

    And so on...

Also, the thing is, every one of these revitalizing fights lead to a big star and that's why the bout is so big. The guy who wins, becomes the man - Not just the best fighter but a star. That's why it needs maximum, global exposure. Whilst it's a big fight now, it could change the division and possibly the sport.

In all honesty, I want to see Wlad to take his head off and put him on a stretcher to anonymity.:good Thats my take as someone from England. I am not nationalistic, more of a boxing fan, for the best to be the champions.

What I fear is that he waits it out until Vitali gets old, beats him and then fights an over-angry Wlad that allows himself to be too open.

I think his tactics for domination are right. The guy is very intelligent.

He has called them out blatently though, and we all can see the duck.

Well, if he's waiting for Vitali to turn 40, then lose to a second rater before he'll even consider signing a contract, then I don't consider this to be a very good approach to domination, and certainly not a move that will gain him very much respect.. When Evander Holyfield made his ascent to the heavyweight ranks, he fought a slew of genuine contenders, then challenged Mike Tyson with the full intention of facing a ferocious champion in the peak of his prime.. That's the key difference between Holyfield's transition from cruiser to heavy, and Hayes... Its also the mark of a true fighting champ..

If you're going to say that, how about you properly back it up?

Holyfield was on his way to being to being a star, yes, but you could argue he was in a very similar position then, to how Haye is now. Even Wlad, actually. Both are on the verge of superstardom, like Holyfield was, and need a fight to make them a star. For Holyfield, that was beating Qawi. After this, it turned the division around into something big. You have to remember the lack of interest shown in the division but Holyfield winning that fight, made the division much bigger.

Willard winning the title was hood for white America but bad for boxing. He wasn't considered a draw and The Ring and other publications, spent their time discussing previous champions. Sound familiar? Then Dempsey came along, a man who was given little chance. After pulling off the upset, he was a star and the heavyweight championship of the world was once again, the biggest prize in sport. That single fight, change a lot of things.

I'm sure Hitler would have something to say but you're saying one fight can't change anything, yet you just admitted it can. Louis/Schmeling was a methaphor for a bigger fight but, in boxing terms, it was a much needed boost to a declining, dull division.

Whilst there was good fighters outside of Ali and Liston, there was no interest in them. It was this fight which turned the heavyweight division, and boxing, around. Boxing needed Liston to lose and Ali was the man who delivered that. Once he did, he division started to thrive once again, like it had decades previously.

That fight made Tyson the star he was and that saved the division which was lifeless. Assuming Tyson had lost, do you think the division would have thrived in the 90's? Of course not.

I want to see the fight but patience is a virtue. This fight will make a star and could turn boxing around, if it's timed correctly. Had the fight happened before Haye/Valuev, it wouldn't have meant anything - If it happens twards the end of this year or summer next year, it can be enormous.

Haye is not good enough! Simple...

I would like to see Haye vs Povetkin seen as they are both reluctant to fight the k bro's. Would love to see that happen!

You are going WAY TOO FAR in putting a Haye vs Klit fight in the same company as some the above mentioned.Watch a few documenteries on Louis,Ali or Tyson and you will see how far off you actually are. Those guys were GLOBAL figures my friend....

Most importantly how will Haye even come close to doing so when he both fights infrequently and doesnt push himself(beyond just fighting the Klits).

Please dont lump all us Brits in the same Haye ball riding boat. I have been very outspoken about the joker on this site.

    Thanks.

    A sane, reasonable response.

Also, just because the fight hasn't been announced doesn't mean he's not intending to fight them. There are details to be worked out before announcing a date to the public. Wait til December before making a thread like this.

Just because Haye didn't fly to Germany and punch Wlad in the nose directly after he saw Wlads video calling him out doesn't mean he's not going to fight him.
