As said before, Haye is not representative of every British person..Haye is representative of Haye. End of.

I know how big they were but you are missing the point because you aren't thinking about the similarities before the big fights.

Instead of thinking of Ali and Tyson in their primes, think about how regarded they were before they fought their key opposition in those first megafights. What my point is, the big fights at the time, the Liston and Berbick fights, are what made them globally popular because they happened at the right time. They propelled their careers and made them megastars.

That's what is think there is a chance of happening with Haye/Wlad, regardless of who wins. You have to ignore Vitali because he will never be a superstar, but the other two of the triumvirate both have a chance to be huge stars, which is why this fight needs very careful promotion.

Book it for August and, yeah, you'll sell out an arena and the PPV will do ok in Britain. Promote it properly and boxing will have a new face of the division, something which has been sorely lacking.
I agree that he fights too infrequently.

what a sweeping statement, especially considering he is in negotiations with them as we speak.

what is so hard about waiting for the announcement of the next fight?

I saw you received a lot of well thought out answers in this thread. Not one real reason out of 6+ pages. Plenty of Brits hate Mayweather and other fighters just because they are american but if someone dares speak out against haye then you are the anti-christ.

    Did you miss my posts?

Tell me, is Haye/Wlad the biggest heavyweight fight? Is it as big as it can be? Can it be a defining moment for the division in modern times? If it happened tommorow, would it have the same impact it could potentially have?
