That sure is disappointing but JDS can **** up Carwin now. JDS strikes me as a new first in MMA. It used to be style vs style, then everyone became really well rounded, I think we might jump back to the Liddell mould i.e. good enough in numerous areas but uses their overall skills to execute one approach. For JDS this is punching people in the face.
really feel bad for brock. as much as I cant stand the guy this is horrible. I guess Jds vs brock will never happen now. Lesnars career as a fighter is probably over as well.
There is nothing worse than not being able to train because of injury or illness. Hope he makes a full recovery and is able to train as soon as possible.
A shame and I'm gutted for Brock, but this is interesting. Anyone saying hur hur Shane can't knock JDS out. **** your ****, if anyone can, it's Carwin. If he keeps this fight standing, he's got a real chance, Brock would've had no chance with JDS on the feet. And Carwin is a wrestler so he's not totally ******ed on the ground, the issue will be his gas tank and his year out. Fascinating fight.
Hope Brock is back fit and healthy soon. Though this illness has spared him from another brutal 1st round KO loss. JDS vs Carwin is a more exciting fight. The very first person to land flush wins the fight. I'd bet anything it doesn't last much more than 90seconds.
I bet elsewise. Carwin doesn't have a glass jaw and he survived Gonzaga's best without even hitting the canvas, Nelson was able to stand up to JDS' attack for 3 rounds. If JDS tries to put Carwin away, he'll kiss the canvas, he's much more dangerous than Nelson is and has a better stand up game, so if he hurts him like he did Nelson, he'd be wise to box at his best instead of trying to finish it and find himself clocked with a big one. But I just think it's a bad idea to stand with Carwin either way, so its up to him. Still though, JDS will do much better boxing behind his jab instead of rushing in and giving Carwin those attempts to put him out. He might be able to outbox Carwin and take him out in the later rounds, I don't think he'll blow him out of the water and get the fight over with early unless maybe he takes it to the floor. But hey, who knows, they're both heavyweights and both big punchers, so you'd be foolish to say its impossible that one of these guys could knock eachother out before the first round is out, you just don't know.
Remember although we don't see it often Carwin was a damn good wrestler. So he could always look for the takedown.
Disappointing of course. But i hope Brock makes it through this. Not sure he'll be the same if he has to go through surgery like that. I know what that **** is about. It's not fun.
I feel sorry for Brock (even though he's been a dick in the past at times). I also feel sorry for the guys who say UFC HW's are the best currently....Cuz they use JDS and Cain as reasoning as why it's the best. JDS gets knocked out (by the guy who was beaten by Brock) and everyone will say "he wasn't proven," & "who did he fight?" & "overraed" If Fedor can dominate heavies for 10 years without a loss, loses one fight and people ask these questions then JDS will get crapped on after he loses to "No gas tank" Carwin. I do like SF heavies a lot more, but I disagree with all that. Carwin has to be one of the biggest punchers in the history of MMA seriously, and that's why he's knocking JDS out. JDS is great though, but isn't all that proven IMO to merit him better Overeem for instance (as tons of people on this very forum argue, and I can't understand how beating Nelson & old Nog make this argument). If JDS wins though, and survives Carwin then I'd give him some props for this fight.
