Beebs, what went down was ugly from both parties, and this is what people are going to argue are the absolute best on the planet as far as heavies.

Carwin is like the MMA version of Butterbean, completely blew his wad. What was worse was he really didn't do much to prevent Brock from going full mount. I mean, these are supposed to be the cream of the crop heavies.

Lesnar showed he has some serious ability to take punishment, and I was impressed, the manner in which he got back up to his feet looked like he just started getting warmed up. You are so damned right when you talk about how good Brock will be if he sticks with the sport. Because right now he is a freak specimen who is very raw, and able to take wade through and take out someone as dangeorus as Carwin. So yeah, I agree with that.

But. The takedown.. Be honest about it. Not impressive, he took down a guy who had no legs nor even remotely attempted to counter it. Honestly he may as well have just laid down. The sub, well yeah that's a cool sub when you surprise a guy with it. It was incredibly deliberate and done from full mount.

This isn't Nog wading through being mounted and pulling off a sub from the bottom. It's pretty much right there in front of you to see. It really was like an old throwback Coleman fight where you saw very unpolished guys compared to today standards, and one guys strength and ability shined through..

This isn't an elegant trap set up by a submission savant, it wasn't take a or take b choice at full mount reminiscant of a Fedor or Hughes punching a guys lights out or forcing them to turn around and give up the back. There wasn't anything refined or impressive about the fight, except the sheer size of the two fighters.
