According to Meltzer, Lesnar has been reconsidering his MMA career following the first round TKO loss he endured at the hands of Cain Velasquez this past October

Meltzer reports that Lesnar, who returned this year from over a year-long layoff which was forced after he endured a life-threatening bout with diverticulitis, has lost all motivation to compete in MMA and has not spoken with UFC President

or anyone involved with Zuffa, LLC. since his loss to Velasquez.

It seemed as though "The Undertaker" was trying to initiate an altercation with Lesnar, and it was later rumored that the two were planning to drum up interest for a future wrestling match under the WWE banner.

According to Meltzer, Lesnar has not returned to the gym since the loss and is actively looking to compete at the next "WrestleMania" for an easy multi-million dollar payday.

Earning the $3000 per match that a UFC fighter gets must have taken its toll on Lesnar.

I doubt he wants to be a fighter at heart but it sure makes it easier when you can make more money in one make of "fake" wrestling then he has combined in all his MMA fights. I don't blame him, I'd take the money too.

Damn that is disappointing if true. He still has tremendous growth potential as a fighter, I would have thought he had more mental fortitude than that. I wouldnt want to leave on a loss personally, but Im sure he feels he has sounds reasons

It figures. Every time he got punched, he looked like he was about to cry.

Lesnar makes a lot of money from MMA, about $5 million a fight. Remember unlike 95% of the roster, Lesnar gets a share of the pay-per-view revenue, and he was responsible for some of the best buyrates in UFC history. Add in the sponsorships and MMA was paying him very well indeed.

I think the reports center solely on the facts that lesnar hasn't been in the gym, is doing a lot of hunting, considering a wwe event, and hasn't talked to any ufc reps. all of this may not be inconsistent with future mma fights. brock's a biz man yes, but he seems to have a lot of pride and doubt he wants to stop competing at age what--33 or so. he probably is taking a break and trying to come to grips with a brutal beating and how to fix his game which might take a while. he knows the ufc (or other org) will wait on him). bet he'll be back unless there are lingering health concerns from last year. it'd be different if he was a couple of years older IMO

Meltzer's a great source for all things MMA. I remember before Brock made his debut there was a lot of talk as to how dedicated he really was to the sport from some insiders. I heard some sources say that he was pretty much giving MMA a hail mary shot and that he just wanted to put money away for his kid'c college fund. Looking forward to seeing where this goes. Would be a huge hit to the UFC if true.

  13. Noooo the GOAT of MMA is leaving? Doesnt he want to fight the best of the best 3 times a year? Im Brocks biggest fan and this is very disappointing.

truth is Lesnar is ****ing heartless.....whether this story is true or not. Any man who turns and runs after some glancing punches (espically when he has had the chance to train and spar with the best from mma, kick boxing, muay thai, boxing..whatever he wanted) is heartless.

if its health reasons who are we too judge but theres people who die to try out for the NFL every damn year and lesnar tried and quit..

when the going's got tough for wrestling he took his ball home and quit..

now he doesnt wanna be a fighter for whatever reason and wants to quit

for the time being we dont know whats true and what isnt, but if it turns out it is, Brock may turn into a walking laughing joke..
