sorry i know this dont belong on classic but i respect the knowledge usually shown by most here Does anyone know if my nose will be easier to break,im having septum surgery prob. in nov.they wont be messin with the cartilidge or bones ,so im guessing it will break no easier, theyl just straightin the tunnels by cutting away any meat masses or bones protruding in the path,i guess my real ques. does a nose get tougher after a couple of breaks such as i have had because even at 30 yrs i think i still got a couple of good boxing years left-so what do you guys think or whats a good link to find out

I have a deviated septum. However, I'm not a Doctor and I didn't stay at a holiday inn express either ;-). I haven't boxed in years but more recently have competed in cycling races and the difficulties in getting a lot of air through my "beak" definitely was a hindrance (it also caused me to ingest lots of bugs through my mouth). A deviated septum also makes you more susceptible to sinus problems/infections. There are a lot of pluses to getting it down and I'm pondering it myself. Sorry, I just don't know the answer to your specific question.

If you box I'm not sure I'd get the surgery until you've finnished your career unless its free as my thought is when you take a whack on the nose the problem

Incidently the only clean shot I shipped 1 year was a whack to my nose and suffered headaches for a long time after, I'm pretty sure it broke but didnt get it x-rayed, its a ******* boxing with a mashed up nose though, so move your head and don't make the mistake I made by backing up in a straight line and shoulder rolling with my right hand down

yeah i get sinus infections constantly and rinses and antibiotics have quit working, after about 1 1/2 years of infections im scared i might have developed asthma because with the infections wich ive read can happen im weezing with a constant chest tightness.now ive started training again, but dont really want to spend 1500 bucks to get it screqwed up a week later.but it hasnt been rebroke as far as i know for 4 years so i thought maybe it got tougher
