about 3 months ago i broke my wrist and fractured my 4th an 5th tibia(?) and i still can barely do press ups and wouldnt even like to try an hit a bag yet, i was curious if anyone had an injury like this before and if so how long it took to heal and was there any long-term effects.

    thanks for any replies

well i never broke my wrist but i did break my hand. I had a boxers fracture and a needed surgery to straighten out the bone with a plate and couple of screws. It was 3 months before i could put weight on it but it took me a total of 6-7 months before i could box again. At first it hurt a lot to hit the heavy bag but it is 100% now and dont feel a thing. If i learned anything from this was that you have to heal properly man dont rush it. I also learned to appreciate my hands a lot more man. Take care of them. Wrap them well and get good gloves. Good luck man.

i've never broken anything but i've torn muscles and ligaments and rushed myself back into training and all i can tell you is take your time. if something doesn't feel right then ease up because the long term **** isnt worth it. my legs hurt every day in the winter now and trust me that kinda **** just sucks.

had surgery on my wrist. man it took me damn near a year for all the pain to go away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND i went through physical therapy. my best advice to u is to just keep things slow. netime u feel the pain, stop! there would be times i would just go through it but then wouldn't be able to use my wrist for WEEKS because of it. PM me if u have ne more questions.

u will be able to punch again, just take things slow. believe me. work on the flexibility of ur wrist and the muscle endurance BEFORE u start to worry about strenghtening it
