http://www.irishboxers.ie/bronco-mckart-wants-his-first-world-title-defence-in-dublin/ what ye think lads?
The name Bronco McKart holds special significance for me. As some forum members may know i'm a a very very very distant relative of Silky Jones (doubt if he even knows it it's that insignifcant). Well, when Silky won the light middleweight title (becoming the first Brit to do it Btw) he was offered a 'marking time' tune up defense against McKart. Everything was agreed and had Silky won he would've got a massive fight probabily against Winky Wright. Silky was one of those fighters who fought to the level of his opponent and criminally the McKart fight was chucked in the bin and Silky's career went down hill from there. He would never reach the levels of his upset against Verno Phillips when he was just brillient, dominating an opponent he was meant to get trashed against. It wasn't to be, but if only that McKart fight had happened... Oh, this was around the time i met my significant other.
