Ever heard of promoter Al Haymon ? He only signs white and japanese fighters.

Whoever can bring the greens will be hyped up and protected.

Anybody, from Broner to the various idiots that have posted ridiculous things in this thread, using race as the dividing line in this argument is a ****ing idiot. It's not about black, white, "emerging markets" or any of the rest of that bull****, it's about green. Anyone who makes anyone money gets - as Cletis says - hyped and protected.

But a word about "hyped". Hyped just means someone somewhere is generating publicity for a given fighter to make money and help that fighter along with his career (Which is one and the same thing). It's not some evil entity that new born babies are sacrificed to. It's always been there, it always will be there. It is what it is.

Anyone posting in this thread be careful. I've had to ban two people in this thread already.

Anyone who thinks race has nothing to do with the public's perception of a fighter's ability is a ****ing douchebag with his head up his ass.

That doesn't mean that money is not a factor. You'd have to be an idiot to think those things are mutually exclusive.

Fortunately, nobody on this forum has made that bizarre, freakish claim.

    Money making black fighter=opportunites
    Money making white fighter=opportunities
    Money making oriental fighter=opportunities

Do you see the thing all these guys have in common?

And do you also see the differences between them?

Make money and you get opportunities, display the type of ability that promises money-making ability and you get the original opportunity.

Nobody says "this fighter looks great...but he's black, **** that."

Nobody says, "this guy looks **** and will probably go 5-18 but he's white. Title shot!"

There is a natural fan base for every race colour or creed. It's fact.

This, Comon man floyd is considerd the #1 p4p in the world by most boxing fans & what about Hopkins, Tyson, Hagler, Hearns, Sugar Ray, Mosley?

He needs to quit crying, I agreed that floyd was not given credit because everytime he beat a great there was some one else he had to face immediatly or people would say he is "ducking" or say he was overrated because pac destroyed the negotiaons the first time (no excuse, its a sport random blood test is not out of the question for any athlete in a combat sport). But Broner has yet to do anything, if anything he has to much hype. He needs to quit crying.

This fighter is just as good as that fighter, but this one is of one race, the other of another race. Due to their race they are generally perceived by the public to be of different calibers, even though they are not. The one perceived by fans to be better has more $$$ potential, gets backed by promoters and networks, which affects the general perception even more.

Both fighters have the same level of ability, yet one is thought to be better than the other, in part due to his race.

Do you see what these fighters have in common? Do you see the differences between them?

yes, it happens. Like I said anyone who thinks it doesn't had his head up his ass.

But the margins you are talking about are so absolutely tiny as to be basically meaningless. If a guy keeps winning, keeps fighting, keeps doing well, he doesn't even have to be a stuck on winner to make real money.

You've mentioned Manny Pacquiao as an example. Pac got his first title shot aged what - 19, 20? He lost. Two years later he got a title shot again.

If the guy was black/white whatever "spoiled race" you have in mind, what would the difference have been? He would have got his second title shot after 17 months instead of 21? Anyone that thinks this kind of difference is worth bitching about (even if he could prove it existed, which he can't) has his ****ing head up his ass.

um Broner does do that more than 95% of the sport. His KO rate is a stunning 83%! Dude is fast, a big body puncher, he mixes it up and has legit power in both hands. Also 83% of the time it's goodnight for the opponent. How the **** is that not exciting especially when you throw some slick defense and skill into the mix.
