Broner Angry About Online "Press Conference," Storms Off

Biting the hand of the network and promoter that give you a showtime payday despite only winning 1 fight (controversially I may add) in the last 5 years, interesting strategy.

 

Adrien Broner is possibly the most stupid boxer of all time.

Bites the hand that has given him multiple undeserved opportunities and unearned big paydays.

 

I'm all for giving Broner the criticism that he deserves when he's acting like classless idiot but he 100% has a valid point. This presser was garbage, Showtime must have set the presser budget at $200 and not a cent over. I've never in my life seen anything like it. They literally did it from home on a zoom call. There's no way that they can stir up interest for this fight with these type of efforts.

$200 is a very generous press conference budget! That's like $10 for every punch he threw against Santiago.

Though it might have been smarter for them to splurge on a normal press conference and then use that $200 for the actual fight, not like Broner's done anything worth watching in the ring in five years anyway. Very few men on this earth are loved by their father as unconditionally as Stephen Espinoza loves Broner.

(As an aside, this is a preliminary Zoom presser they've been doing for every fight, Charlo vs Castaño had at least one. Then they do an in person event fight week.)

 

Broner had it in his hands. He was the first fighter of any combat sport that built his base completely online. He had a big YouTube channel, he was all over WSHH, all he had to do was box but.....

He’s now learning that he was only being tolerated when he was marketable and actually winning fights or losing in exciting fashion. He’s put on a string of uneventful performances and not in favor with PBC, his entourage is gone and he’s no longer must see tv. So now he’s bitter but at the lack of preferential treatment, but that’s all his own doing.

What does he expect? He's not really that big a name, he was never really that big a talent.

He just consistently underperformed throughout his career.

I can stand watching him anyway, unless he is getting his backside whooped in the ring. Don't care for press conferences and wouldn't watch his for damn sure.


He had so much preferable treatment and got ridiculously overpaid by just being an obnoxious caracter. He's like a walking talking Netflix real life show weirdo.
