You can't make anybody a lock, but I'd make JCC and Pacquiao 50/50 at the weight. If you count FW's who could have moved up then you're looking at a lot of ATG fighters who could hang with him.
Again, if you read my post again I actually do acknowledge that world titles are fragmented. It's like applying for a job. You may be better than others at what you do, but if other candidates have a stronger academic achievements (i.e. a degree) where you do not, employers will deem those to have a better a resume.
****s://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floyd_Mayweather,_Jr. Look at his record from 18-0 to 26-0 and you be surprise who fought at Broner age. I'm talking about Genaro Hernandez, Diego Corrales, Carlos Hernandez, Angel Manfredy, and Carlos Gerena. Broner has three world titles at different weight classes at that age which is impressive but his opponents were not the same caliber as Floyd at that age. Broner biggest win against Demarco, Paulie, and Ponce De Leon and even though those fighters were champions I don't that think none of those guys were survive against opponents I just mention against Floyd.
Other than both being black and acting like buffoons outside the ring I don't get the comparison. Floyd is clearly the better boxer but I prefer watching Broner fight.
Well said, I think his defense has gotten better and better with age too. He needed his legs a lot more in his younger days to avoid shots. He is definitely more willing to sit in the pocket, pick off shots & counter, than he was in his younger days.
No, he was 23. Mayweather was born February 1977. He fought Corrales in January 2001, a month shy from his 24th birthday.
I can understand why someone would think Broner is like Mayweather, but after seeing his fight against Paulie, he actually resembles Winky Wright with a shoulder roll more than Floyd. Floyd was much better at 23
Has nothing to do with being flat footed, but either way just because Broner uses the shoulder roll like Floyd doesn't mean he could execute it like Floyd. Lacks the timing, patience, ring generalship Floyd had even at 23. Floyd wouldn't even let a jab land on him cleanly at mid-long range where Broner was getting hit with 4-5 punch combos by Paulie. Broner is good, very good, but no where close to the signs of greatness Floyd had.
