I was on vacation the night of the fight so didnt watch the fight till this past weekend.

Let me first say that Paulie was justified in his complaints in his first fight w/ Juan Diaz. However this fight wasn't even remotely close. I truly don't understand how anyone (except extreme Adrien haters) could say that Paulie was robbed. Also, his previous fight w/ Cano could have easily been another "L" for him, but like he stated "the politically connected fighter gets the close fights" in which in that case he did.

Anyway, back to this fight, Paulie won 4 rds at best. I gave him the first 2 and maybe rds 10 & 12. Paulie's movement and workrate had Broner slightly confused in the first couple of rounds but once he landed clean on Paulie, the takeover started. Broner dominated the fight from the 3rd round on. He was very active (contrary to what people say) in the those last 9 rds. He hurt Paulie on several occasions (to which Paulie would try to play it off but he was hurt a few times) and Paulie was constantly in retreat mode. Now his jab at times was effective and he landed a few counter rights, but he mainly hit Broners arms and shoulders. Jeff Mayweather said it best - "If this was an amatuer fight, Paulie probaly would have won, but this is a professional fight so he definitely lost" .... Basically he is saying (to which any follower of the sport knows) just b/c you throw over 1000 punches doesn't mean you win the fight especally if there is no pop to your punches and you only land 215 of them (or somehing like that).

Now Paulie did show heart down the stretch, which I am not surprised as he is a champion fighter. But lets be honest ... Bronere jumped up 2 weight classes, fought a WW champ in his hometown and looked impressive. I think that he beats both Garcia and Lucas at 140 and I am one of Garcia's biggest supporters. I say this based off this fight with Paulie and seeing him live in AC against DeMArco, TV doesn't show you how quick and powerful he is.

Broner not only beat Paulie, he convincly beat him and deep down Paulie knows he lost. To be honest, how one judge gave Paulie the fight is laughable. Anyway, both fighters showed up and gave us fans good entertainment.

It was convincing and I do agree. Broner controlled the fight and Paulie did the only thing to win perfectly but he did not control the fight.

Power shots are one of the most important things in boxing. A fighter simply touching another fighter in the face with his glove does not show that he was better at all. It shows that he just has more stamina. Before anyone mentions Calzaghe, realize that his punches actually had a lot of power and were not easy to block. Paulie on the other hand was throwing a ton of punches that had nothing on them and most were simply being blocked by Broner's defense.

To call that fight close is laughable.

Yeah I agree. Plus Joe C. actually hurt a lot a lot of his opponents through effective volume and was very accurate, which made his opponents think twice before engaging with him.

Glad to see that someone agrees with me as it never ceases to amaze me how some fans judge a fight.

I do agree with the OP's assessment. Broner did win and clearly.

Yeah real good to see that you all agree. Before I saw the fight, I kept hearing how AB got outclassed and looked horrible at the weight and escaped with an undeserving victory. Then I get back home, turn on the DVR and see a one sided fight from the 3rd round on ... SMH

Broner definitely didn't get hurt or take much punishment.....but no one Paulie faces ever takes much punishment. The fact Broner couldn't get much of his offense going and sustain it, allowed Paulie to fight his fight much of the night.

Broner had a difficult time stylistically with Paulie as I thought he would...ultimately Broner was powerful enough to make Paulie respect his offense to where Malinaggi couldn't keep his work rate up every round allowing Broner to win enough to edge out a win.

The judges were terrible in that fight. Broner fought a cagey guy with speed and a chin. That's Paulie. He will fight with a broken eye socket. with that said, the Paulie Broner fight wasn't close. During the first few rounds the fight was close until Broner pulled away.

No one was robbed, it was a close fight that could have went either way depending on how you judge fights which is completely relative in the first place.

ROFLMAO Slappy Calzaghe couldn't put together 25 LEGITIMATE punches in any of his later fights He hit with the inside of the glove , slapped kinda like a girl. Only time he hurt Bernard Hopkins was with the blatant low blow. No way in hell Calzaghe won that fight:patsch

You don't really believe that. Broner clearly won the fight. The fight wasn't close. We understand why you do what you do. You have to.

Been saying this for the past few weeks, maybe the one judge who did give Paulie the nod was fresh from the amatuer ranks in boxing.

Broner an ATG ??? ROFLMAO He certainly isn't & never will be. Be honest there was no way in hell Malignaggi was going to win that fight if Broner was standing at the end. GBP have too much invested in him for him to lose. Fight was close could have gone either way
