And in the process recieved (in my eyes) a gift decision courtesy of Al Haymon and GBP. The kid does have skills, but he was more concerned with looking cute and was letting Ponce outwork and outpoint him. Ponce's style was taylor made for Broner and Broner refused to pull the trigger. He had 1 really good round which was round 5 I believe and that's it. I had Ponce up by 2rnds. I hope HBO omits him from future televised bouts until he has the balls to let em go rather than dancing, running, and showboating.
The kid did make an ass out of himself. I mean he started showboating in the fifth round (which he was clearly winning) but he was losing the fight at the time because he clearly lossed the first three rounds. One thing I found hilarious though was when he was being introduced and that 5 foot bowling ball in his entourage was brushing his hair for him.
Well he is 21 but a very immature 21 and seems to think behavior like that makes him look cool, when in reality he is just making a fool of himself and making it so that people wont take him seriously.
The proof is my own 2 eyes with 20/20 vision AND the fact that one judge had Ponce winning only 1 round!
The creep lost the fight to de Leon. Boxing is so f'ing crooked it isn't even funny. But it was funny to see how quickly the hired talking heads, Max and pals, dropped their surprise at the phony decision and quickly toed the party line.
The bloke is such a **** - Has very good skills but after seeing him act like that i hope he gets knocked spark out. At the end of the fight he was shouting 'get my belt' 'get my belt'. What a ****. He will get found out!
I would agree with you, but its not going to happen. I don't care if someone showboats as long as they can back it up. He didn't back it up last night. Sad part is that they gave him the decision. I like the guy though. I must admit. Hopefully he won't be the next Berto cuz he kind of reminds me of him a little.
