Provodnikov is another GREAT example. It's not common to see that kind of change, but it is possible with the right fighter, and that helped me remain confident in Maidana last night. I was hoping he'd find that balance working with R. Garcia. :happy

Are you sure you are at the right site? Breaking down fights, giving opinions, is a mainstay of this site.

Like I said, some people saw it, some didn't. I didn't. And Maidana definitely exposed Broner's weaknesses, things some savvy fight fans who post here saw. I was just curious as to how they were able to see it, and what they saw.

Anyone who picked Maidana KNOWS boxing.

And, make no mistake, I DID ENJOY THE FIGHT!

I do believe that Broner good at he is, have been hyped up, and moving up in weight to fast. He properly should have taken some fights as LWW before jumping into WW and some of the big punchers there.
I mean Paulie is featherfisted couldn't take him down or and I was surprised he did as well as he did against Broner.

Broner though showed a better chin that I expected, eventhough the ref and the dirty fighting helped Broner.

Before the match I thought that Broner he would be in trouble a the beginning, but survie and win a clear victory on point.

I'm happy for Maidana, hopefully he can get some big paydays in Argentina.

This. Maidana has power and a mean streak. Broner's
    power was questionable.

Was that a Victor Ortiz like headbutt from Maidana? Also, Broner wanted out right there in then when he threw himself on the mat. We seen a lot last night of Broner. He even started a chicken dance on his first trip to the mat. Hopefully, Broner is humbled and comes back better, smarter, and stronger. Only his second fight at WW.

The fact he is a three weight world champion is a poor reflection on boxing and the alphabet titles as opposed to a reflection on how good Broner is. Sorry but before Paulie he hadn't fought anybody at all to warrant the hype he was getting. So you can't cite the titles as an indication that he wasn't exposed and just lost, nobody has had an easier path to titles in multiple weight divisions than Broner that I can think of.

The one thing you have to say about Broner is that he is a masterful salesman. Because, like you say, what has he really done to warrant the publicity he has gotten, other than the very effective self-promotion. He is one smart guy when it comes to getting his name out there and creating emotions toward him. He took a page out of professional wrestling, playing the devil, encouraging people to hate him, with his antics. I have to admit I am one of those fans who wanted to see him KO'd but to his credit he made me want to watch the fight, to see him get KO'd. The guy is no dummy. He has always emulated PBF and, in many ways, he is following PBF's script. He just can't back it up in the same way with his skills.

Some have spoken up but I'd still like to hear from those who called this fight and why. I think it took real insight to see it.
