Would definitely continue a pattern that has formed over the last few years that has kept him fresh both physically and in a marketability sense since Hatton.

Long Layoff ----> OK Opponent ----> Big Name Opponent (repeat)

People bought Marquez, Ortiz and will buy Guerrero because it had been forever since anybody had seen the guy in the ring, and curiosity kicks in. Mosley and Cotto were followed up more quickly, but those fights sold themselves for the most part. Canelo would be the easiest sell possibly available to him. It would be absolutely enormous, really.

you forget what happens when someone goes against GBP? Im sure 50 cent still remembers.

GBP is the future and has been for a while. They make the better fights and risk their prospects alot more than anyone else. That is why they are the future.

Showtime can overtake HBO and with GBP that could happen. Keep in mind GBPs has a great stable of fighters and has grown more and more.

You are confusing GBP with Al Haymon here..

Showtime will never take over HBO.. Don King did almost the same in the 90's.. With a lot bigger names than GBP are bringing.. HBO prevailed

If i'm wrong and Broner will go to Showtime fighting Paulie on june 22.. What do you guys think the ratings would be?? especially with HBO going with Junior against it... IMO his ratings could be halved from his last few fights... Al Haymon knows this... No way they are going to let this happen...

Bradley Provo ratings just in.. Better than Showtimes highest boxing rating in the last 10 years

Check his twitter feed from last night. Said something along the lines that Broner will stay with HBO somehow. I assume this is the reason for the OPs conclusions.

Exactly and this pattern keeps Floyd's pockets lined. Marquez, Ortiz, Guerrero - ~30 million. Cotto and Mosley, ~45 million. At the end of the day, Floyd will take a (perceived) difficult fight if it will pay off for him. Canelo could perhaps make him over 50.

Made closer to $40 mil for Ortiz, didn't he? The total revenue generated was equal to Mosley despite 250,000 fewer buys. He was Forbes #1 athlete by a long shot at an estimated $85m based on his last two fights. He'd benefit himself to put one of these paydays away and leave it the **** alone. There's no reason for him to ever go broke, it's unfathomable.

I don't see this happening.... what the OP said.. but if Haymon split from GBP it would be a big hit.. but we can't forget the hispanics GBP has fighting under them... Alvarez, Mares, Garcia, Maidana, Mattheyse, Angulo, Lara, plus many others and prospects... plus who would Haymon fight on HBO?... Top Rank fighters?? The same Top Rank he has been beefing with? Not sure if that happens...

I think Haymon and Arum are smart enough to be able to work together...

And whenever Haymon feels he's better off working with TR, he'll jump ship immediately.. And no matter how you spin it.. HBO is a better platform than SHO

Smart enough is one thing, being able to share the pot is another. Arum is a greedy ******* and won't give in to the leverage that Haymon is usally able to exploit.

Imagine if Haymon get's Broner into fights with JMM, Pac, Rios, Bradle over at HBO.. And Broner delivers.. He could be just as big as Floyd in terms of the money he;s generating..

That means Haymon has Floyd over at Showtime making 40 million a fight and at HBO exactly doing the same with Broner..
