He's got a lot of potential and athleticism, but I thought his defence looked really weak against Rees. The Welshman had no trouble landing his punches, in some rounds even more than 50% connect rates. It's especially troubling if you consider that at 5'4, he's 3 inches shorter than Broner. Most of Broner's opponents will be taller and harder to hit.

Even if he was clowning: he's not going to have a long career getting hit that often.

Don't get me wrong, he's a promising boxer, but he's no Mayweather. Floyd was damn near flawless at 130.

I would have to agree with you on this one.

Mayweather didn't get hit that much until Castillo and even now vs. Cotto. Honestly the Mayweather comparisons have to stop, I think that Broner is Broner and if he focused on being who he is; he would be just fine but he is always trying to be like Mayweather; thinking that it will make him a superstar but he isn't Mayweather.

I think that Broner is giving us very exciting fights and I applaud him for standing toe to toe and taking people out. Instead of criticizing him so much; we should be thankful that his fights although short are very exciting.

Broner vs. Abril would be an interesting match-up.
