what other reason could gbp making this fight a ppv?

garcia-matthysse would likely sell more yet they're only an undercard.

this fight should be an undercard

matthysse vs garcia is a way better fight than this one

because they believe Broner is a star. It was inevitable that he'd headline his own ppv. He's got the second highest rated fight in Showtime's history next to Cotto/Trout

and Garcia/Matthysse is on theone undercard because Floyd requested for it to be and Chavez Jr took their original date

    they're fools and you're a fool.

maybe in the future but not yet....and, as you said broner was 2nd to cotto-trout that wasn't even ppv worthy.

shut the **** up dindong. I never said he was a big enough star to headline a ppv. That's obviously why I said "because they believe Broner is a star."

and I brought up the ratings to show you the reasoning GBP is probably thinking. I think he's still 2-3 fights away from a ppv

Tough call. Either Maidana overwhelms him and walks him down or Broner tags him and beats him up for twelve. Only thing is Maidana lost one-sided to DEVON ALEXZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzander -- that's the biggest risk.

No they pay a set amount for the fight to cover the purse for the fighters and other promotional costs. They get a % of the money that is brought in. What do you think they give mayweather 30 million a fight for what? They only lose money if the PPV numbers don't make enough to cover the cost of the fight.
Thats why I said they could keep the guarantee for each fighter low and offer the fighters more based on sales. This is the same thing they do for Mayweather ,other than the fact that they count on his numbers to be so much higher, they can afford to give him much more up front.
When they bankroll their own show they take a loss, in hopes of building up sells for the next ppv. Showtime is not in business to lose money (if they can help it)

    that is ppv.

i'm talking about hbo and showtimes allotted budget to buy and produce a free fight shown on their network to entertain their current subscribers or to attract new subscribers.

Not sure if this makes ppv...I won't buy it unless the undercard is great.

There is about 3 title fights for this PPV card btw, ther eis no way they could justify Broner as a legit PPV item yet.
