I think his win last night is going to look better in time. His opponent looked a very good, solid, boxer. Better than I expected.

You might see Figueroa as a future opponent. They mentioned on the broadcast that Broner is not vacating his 135 title.

Figueroa is going to have to work on some defense because Broner hits a lot harder, but I love his mentality.

Broner vs Fig would be equally as awesome as Broner vs Maidana. I'll be happy with either, if Broner fights Fig then Maidana can fight Thurman for Broner's vacant title.

    Maidana already ducked Thurman.

You mean you already forgot Marcos was scheduled to fight Keith but pulled out for no reason.

He wants nothing to do wit him.

maidana pulled out because he was getting paid peanuts to fight a man who know one knew (at the time) and if he won he wouldn't have got any credit and if he would have lost and lets face it Thurman is a huge WW so he could have easily lost he would have got slaughtered for losing to a no name fighter.

Maidana would have no problems taking this fight now, especially if a title is up for grabs. Haters gonna Hate i suppose.

Awesome idea, put Karass on the card as well for beating Berto, he deserves another payday. Karass vs Ortiz or the Ghost.

Maidana and his handlers sure as hell knew who Thurman was.
That fight was not for peanuts....no need to lie.

It was a perfect opportunity to expose a hot prospect on HBO in front of millions...

Maidana knew he'd likely get KTFO...

He got almost double for fight Karass a few months later. The fight vs Thurman if made now would be a big fight and both would get paid well.

I think Maidana made the right decision Money wise and career wise as he has gone on to win his next 2 fights by stoppage got paid well and is now in a title opportunity vs Broner. You are allowed your opinion though so no problems here.

I really rate Thurman highly and yes he could very well KO Maidana, especially to the body, can't rule out Maidana though. Great fight if it happens.

Broner took the Paulie fight at 147 for a check because Malinaggi is not a real WW himself

Broner will not campain at 147 for anybody other than Maidana..

He only has ONE fight at 135 and ZERO at 140.

Jr WW is where he will be.

He hasn't even vacated his lightweight title..

I agree...Maidana was new to 147 and would have been blasted all to hell by Thurman...as he would now..

He's in a much better position today....you're right about that.

People must have a repressed memory of Maidana getting his ass whipped by Devon Alexander..

Maidana is THERE TO BE HAD...:deal

He's flapping in the breeze...just dangling.

Let me guess, you think Static stationary Broner will be too fast and slick for Maidana to land any shots?, bet you think Broner vs Maidana is a mismatch Ha.:rofl

You underrate Maidana, its OK. The Devon fight was his worst performance, out of shape, no trainer as his Trainer got sick a month before the fight and Devon still had to break the World record for Clinches started in a Pro Boxing match.

Maidana was that bad in that fight i thought he was finished and would retire, embarrassing performance, **** fight as well because of Devon's tactics.

Maidana under Garcia is a better fighter, uses the jab to set up his power shots and throws straighter punches down the middle instead of the looping over hand rights he used to throw. he would give Devon a much better fight these days but Devon is still a nightmare match up for him style wise.
