It does seem like Broner and Floyd are an idealized goal for much of young blacks. Someone like Shane Mosley is a humble and great fighter but perhaps he's seen as too "white" by young blacks.

WTF? To be rich and not give a damn is idealized by damn near every nationality on this planet! Other nationalities usually don't achieve this status in areas that allow them to be young and exceptionally in shape at the same time, i.e., athletics. Those that do? Donald Trump, rock stars, Wall Street, etc... The persona is EXACTLY the same! "F you. I am RICH!"

There are plenty of rich Black doctors, accountants, engineers, and much like their brethren of other nationalities? You don't hear crap from them. Young rich brats are ripping up China as we speak. Literally KILLING PEOPLE with their games of fast cars. Funny thing is that there is not thread after thread talking about how they are the face of ALL Chinese or Asians.

You guys are annoying always attempting to add some level of "Blackness" to everything. This crap is universal.

I agree, he'd annihilate Gesta. But Broner is still very young. He's not like Floyd or Marquez where they are at the tail end of their career and it makes sense for them to pick high profile opponents only. Why not fight Gesta as a way of getting warmed up at 135?

come on, u think Broner is scared of this nobody? i think he is with Top Rank. so he needs to tell bob to make it happen. Broner is fighting in October. if Gesta wants it, he needs to get on it.

broner should fight someone with a pulse before he acts like he is too good for ESPN fighters.

Broner is more of a complete fighter than Gesta but Gesta is young and can improve. Broner is naturally talented but Gesta has the right tools but needs to be properly "sharpened". I don't think Gesta is ready for Broner at the moment and matching him up against Broner will be a mistake against Gesta's team. Let's see how Gesta does against Miguel Vasquez and then we'll see what's up.
