Broner is gifted in terms of speed, power, reflexes, but I think he's too relaxed at times. He might look flashy doing what he does, but I believe he potentially leaves spots for a better fighter to take advantage of, like look how much he drops his hands. Its okay dropping your hands when your out of range, but Broner is way too loosy goosy with where his hands are at times, a problems which is exasperated by the fact he has a tendency to pull away from punches. There might be another issue to, going too defensive and slipping into a defensive mindset where by you stop using the jab to get off first as a means to keep the opponent out at range cause your looking to allow them into range so you can set a trap for them( a counter uppercut). When Broner did that in the second round he was only coming back with a single counter, so if it missed he was one and done, what I would of wanted to see is him counter in combination in this situation, like putting a left hook, right uppercut behind the original uppercut, so if the first uppercut missed he could of come back with another two punches that had more possibility of landing. Reason I say this is because during round 2 Broner went too defensive looking to land that single which just invited too much pressure and he subsequently lost the round because of that.

All it potentially takes for someone to take advantage of Broner's low hands and pulling back away from punches is for someone to touch his body first to take his eyes then come over the top with something, or to send him back on the line with the jab and catch him whilst the ropes are inhibiting him from moving away any further, so he better stop relying exclusively on his reflexes. Roy Jones could get away with it because he had a high ring IQ, only I doubt Broner has the Boxing IQ of Jones, even an early Roy Jones.

Broner is talented and exciting though, a good addition to Boxing, I just wouldn't get too carried away with him just yet.

I wouldn't jinx the guy yet by putting him on a pedestal. He is a good, young fighter with U.S.-level talent. It would be hard to bet against this slick, black American. He's not on the level of Gamboa or Donaire, but he's getting there.

Yeah man, I completely agree. As much as I like Broner, there is no way in hell I can jump on "the bandwagon" with his resume....not yet.
