Broner-Paulie was a throwback

    What a show! The lead up was personal, the fight competitive and emotional, post fight with a lot of heat, this turned out unexpectedly old school boxing. Seem to me Showtime can't go wrong lately, and more goodies are coming, the awesome Mares/Jhonny, Santa Cruz/Terrazas double header. I thought the fight was quick clear, but what the hell, maybe Paulie earned a rematch and can talk up another big show.

    It was a pretty mediocre night for boxing, all in all.

    I definitely don't want to see another one.

    I thought the fight was ****. Broner knew from the first minute that Paulie's power was a joke so there never really was any sense of urgency throughout the entire fight. Just let Paulie get tired and then land some good shots to win the later rounds.

    I would watch a rematch though there are better fights out there for both guys. The whole night was a letdown, from the fake title fight to the thrown fight to the fixed fight. It was just all-around bad.

    Such a spoiled sissy... Paulie pushed the fight throughout, working good angles, catching Broner with some nice clean punches, making it a lot closer than most expected, while ABro showcased Floyd-like accuracy but without Floyd's D, resulting in an intense, two-way, exciting affair that pleased the 10k+ crowd yet over here on deadside boxing... it was a **** fight. :lol:

    Agreed. Loved the fight, it was tense throughout, everytime it looked like Paulie might fold from broners power he came back with combinations and fought with heart.

    It was a much better fight than I thought it would be. It showed just how limited Broner was aswell, and gave me a new found respect for PM

    I guess those underestimating Paulie expecting a blowout (in which case they were ready to rip Broner for opponent selection), feel **** about this good fight cause their prediction was ****, and now they rip Broner for having a competitive fight. Priceless! :lol:

    Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Glad you enjoyed it.

    Paulie has always been a tough out, despite his almost criminal lack of punching power. He gets beat up a decent amount, but not for a lack of toughness or competitive fire. It takes balls to get in the ring with guys who consistently outgun you.
    Paulie has almost always been "the other guy" in the ring, and has almost always acquitted himself well. At the very least he never gave in.

    Khan really dominated Paulie the worst. Hatton after that. Cotto hurt him the most. Broner beat him, but not nearly as convincingly as any of the above.
