Broner-Porter is one of the toughest matchups to pick I've seen in awhile

    Glass?

obviously Broner is not a likeable character but he is a decent boxer and actually went up in my estimation against Maidana

We dont know if he will be drained and thats a fact!!

Yes i would favor him more at 147 and thats why Broner hasnt fought there in awhile, he isnt a WW

    Not in the least bit.

Porter was a paper champ, very carefully manufactured with flattering match-ups (versus Paulie & Devon) that made him out to be something he wasn't. His skill level for a world titlist is atrocious, same with K9 Bundrage. In fact they're very similar. Just physically strong maulers...except Porter is obviously the greater athletic specimen physically, and more explosive. Boxing skill is roughly equally non-existent, though. I knew Brook would decision him, never doubted it for a second, and that's even with remembering what happened in Jones I.

Broner is just an obnoxious human being. He takes all the "villain" aspects of the character that Floyd plays, and makes them even more cartoonish and WWE-style, missing the boat on all of the underlying work ethic and love of the game that makes Floyd's character so complicated. Broner comes off as this whiny insecure little braggart, whereas Mayweather comes off as supremely confident but in an earned way and he's still usually respectful of most of his opponents. He's also unoriginal and bites guys' styles (Toney etc) yet bungles them.

They have a combined ring IQ of the square root of potato.

I just think Porters style is all wrong for Broner.

    I enjoy Porter.

His come forward style will make some entertaining fights in the future.
    Especially vs the other maulers/brawlers.

He's got a good chin also.

So, there's some good bouts to come from Porter in the future, some FOTY candidates also!

Broner is not bad, he's just not as good as he thinks he is.
He needs to shut the hell up and improve his game.
Not go out on the town catching herpes from strippers.

    I fully agree.

Broner has the style to upset him and he knows better to underestimate a fighter after Maidana.

However Porter seems way too hungry, determined and will take it to Broner from the first second. By the sounds of it Team Porter have the better game plan and I think this goes to a decision, possible Split Decision.

It's an intriguing fight but I pick Broner 7-5 decision, if it was before the Maidana fight he might have had major problems, we'll see if he learned anything and Mayweather has apparently been teaching him to imitate him properly so let's see.

    Good post :good

They have comparable handspeed, it's not like Porter has slow hands. If I give you that Broner has faster hands, it isn't going to make a difference in the fight. The real question is if Broner can handle Porter's pressure, then Broner wins. But I don't think he has the power to keep Porter off him. Broner doesn't hold like Brook or move his feet like Mayweather. I just honestly don't see Broner winnning, unless Porter is drained and has no energy.

We shall see and with full disclosure I have money on Porter.
