I hope you are right as I like him as a fighter but I have a funny feeling that on Saturday it's going to be rather systematic. If he does lose then he needs to get back in the ring sharpish.

You reckon? ... I just think thats Broner being normal.. i don't think he's the slightest bit worried , he's too full of himself

Yeah. I think Broner was definitely surprised at Rees' and everyone else's reactions. He tried to use mind games to upset Rees and make everyone laugh and think he was cool, instead he just embarrassed himself and he knew it.

I agree. He just doesn't seem like the type. If you look at him in the ring and in the corner, he looks as composed as a guy could possibly be in the ring. People can analyse the pre fight stuff all they want, but usually they're way off the mark. The trash talking, the dancing on the way to the ring, the brushing off the hair, it's either just Broner trying too hard to be funny, or intentionally making people hate him. If all this was designed to mask the nerves, then why do it post fight? Why ask his dad and his gf to brush his hair post fight, when the nerves have gone?

You know, I used to be his biggest hater on this forum and I said the exact same thing. Now? I'm not sure. I don't think Broner is as shallow or as thick as he makes out. The more I think about it, I think Broner is could just be putting on this male bimbo act because it gets people talking. I don't know why, but it's just a hunch that I have. I think Broner is one of those people who if you don't know him you'll think "man what a *****", but if you were to meet him away from the cameras and spend some time with him he'd turn out to be a nice, down to earth guy. I could be wrong, but like I said it's a hunch.

Broner is getting people talking. I know there are a lot of people here who feel he's a hype job and that someone like Burns will end the hype. I can see this guy becoming a superstar one day.

Rees will get battered, but **** me watching Broner try and be funny is some of the most cringe worthy stuff I've seen since The Office. An absolute embarrassment and like a kid trying really hard to impress some older kids, but failing horribly. What a ****.

If Broner batters Rees' then I'll hold my hands up and admit I was wrong. But I truly don't see it quite happening that way in my heart or head. You can't believe that a fighter is the best thing since sliced bread just because he has an undefeated record and a lot of hype.

James Toney? Lucian Bute? Both fighters who'd only ever fought half-decent opponents at best. Then faced a live and hungry opponent and were completely exposed and crushed. Broner COULD be the next name to join that infamous list.

James Toney? He lost to a prime RJJ for ****s sake. He lost on points to one of the most gifted fighters that has ever lived. Bute had shown clear vulnerability in the first fight with Andrade and then lost to a top tier World Champion with proven KO power who has mixed it at elite level for years.

Broner is facing Gavin Rees who is a decent fighter, who is fringe world level at best. Yeah he won a title and then lost it decisively in his first defence. He doesn't have power of real note and has operated around domestic level for most of his career.

There is no comparison between these situations and that of Toney and Bute losing. I hope you're right, because Broner comes across like a **** and it would be great for Rees to win. Rees is clearly unperturbed and confident, but that simply won't be enough IMO.

 to be fair he has surprised me with a couple of lines that were half decent I'd say.

    "I don't lose. I don't even like losing weight"

Then some guy at a press conference said to him "You look like you could do with a beer. A Corona", so he responds with "you look like you just had one". They both got some laughs.

but then he comes out with "He's Mayweather, I'm Februweather":patsch:lol: which is so bad it's good. Never thought I'd say it but this **** is winning me over.

Also, sorry but Toney had only beaten "half decent opponents at best"? Going into the RJJ fight he had beaten Nunn and McCallum. He'd also beaten Reggie Johnson. That is 3 World Champions, one of who was unbeaten and reigning champ and the other two had lost once in their careers. Toney had mixed at elite level when he faced RJJ.

 Those are decent and if he had come out with stuff like that it would be fine.

I can't see Broner battering Rees, far from it. I'm shocked at how underated Rees is and how so many are buying into the Broner hype.

He reminds me of Jeff Lacy. A decent boxer who is overhyped beyond belief and will get unstuck. I think Rees will be the one to expose him. If not Rees then Ricky Burns definitely will.

Oh ****, James Toney?????? Where the **** did that come from? I meant JEFF LACEY. **** me, what an awful type that was. Sorry, I meant Jeff Lacey, honestly.

That's me typing on auto-pilot at midnight that. Time for bed I think.

Ah fair enough mate, yeah Lacy compares to be fair. BUT, Lacey never looked as good technically or skill wise as Broner. Still, hope you're right mate, I'd love to see Rees pull out the win.
