 You're lumping James Toney in with Lucian Bute? Bloody hell.

Anyway, I've not noticed anyone in this forum (or the General, for that matter) labelling Broner as the "best thing since sliced bread". Most people recognise him for what he is - a very talented and skilled up-and-comer. And it's fully warranted. He's gonna' toy with Rees.

As for his cockiness/humour, it's kinda' won me over. Sometimes he'll say cringe stuff, but occasionally he'll throw a few things that'll make you chuckle. Rees didn't have him rattled, either. Don't know where people are seeing that . In fact, Broner seemed somewhat amused by his confidence. Like I said, he's gonna' put a pasting on him and he knows it. All that "I respect him as a fighter" stuff is just being said to be polite.

Broner isnt fazed at all, hope he inst taking Rees too lightly though as he may cause him some problems...he's not the type of fighter that goes away easily.

Has Rees ever fought someone not bigger than him?

He has a great way to drag his opponent down a few levels, underrated really!

Broner's leaning back style and having to throw downward punches might not help him either, if Rees can get inside and throw some hooks to the body and head as well as upper cuts he might make it interesting in the beginning but my head tells me that Broner just jabs him to death and Rees can't reach him and just hits thin air...

Just because we think Broner wins easy is not the same as saying he's one of the best or a future great or anything. It's also not calling Rees ****. It's simply a terrible style match for Rees.
Rees will be dominated and stopped in this one. Won't be close IMO.

Whether you hate him or love him. Deep down, we ALL really love him.

    He is just so great.

    Fresh, fly AND flashy.

The Just!n Bieber of the Boxing World!

He talks the talk, and he walks the walk. You can be hating, but as long as your paying, mission accomplished.

Floyd Mayweather v2, you better believe it!

"WBC lightweight champion Adrien Broner appears to be trying to style himself as the latest brash, flash boxing superstar.

The thing is, he doesn't appear to be very skilled in the trash talking department.

At yesterday's press conference to promote Saturday's Atlantic City fight with Gavin Rees, Broner tried to belittle the Welsh challenger, referring to him as 'Cabbage Rees' and saying he didn't know his name.

After the passing tumbleweed had been cleared and publicity matters concluded, it appears that 'The Rock' had the last laugh as the fighters left the building - at least according to Rees' trainer, Gary Lockett.

"So, after Adrien Broner disrespecting Gavin Rees in yesterdays Press Conference in New York," Lockett posted on his Facebook account, "my personal highlight was after the Presser, we were outside on the street and Broner has walked up to Gavin Rees and said 'you better be f**kin' ready Cabbage Rees'?

"Gav said 'go and pull your jeans from up around your ankles you f**king muppet' So Broner has not known what to say, then muttered 'gonna f**k you up', then, flustered, he has jumped into his chauffer driven people carrier and dropped his phone on the pavement and smashed it!!!

"We were all rolling around laughing!!! This Broner is possibly the most disrespectful guy in Boxing."

    :rofl

it really does sound like Gavin has pissed Broner off

It seems fashionable to love everything Eddie Hearn does or says. If your a :tired then I suggest you follow suit. However his type dont actually care what people say, as long as your talking about them. I think they behave and act like they do just to wind people up and get people talking.

The finger pointing, the winks, the looks, the smiles, the smugness, the suits, the "funny" jokes, its all just a part of the game.

Eddie Hearn is a warrior, dont you know? :deal

This guy has been deafened by his own hype. Just because you rub shoulders with Mayweather dont mean your at his level, remember that... I hope Rees at the very least gives this kid a reality check, an 8 count might sober him up a little
