I agree but Ward has cleaned his division out.
GGG could do that in a realistic 3-4 fights. Then move up or down (although i really doubt he can make 154).

He might but atleast he stepped up and tried to fight the best. That's more than what you can say about GGG right now.:deal

I think the thing that irritates me, is seeing some people who sometimes are with it buy into this crap. To say GGG has not tried to fight the best is to ignore several years of Team GGG actually trying to make fights, unsuccessfully. Many promoters and managers are even on record, not just speculation - record, saying how GGG is too much "risk for the reward".

By spewing this crap you are not calling out some "overhyped bum" for not stepping up. What you are doing is giving a free pass to all the supposed non-bums who werent even the slightest bit interested in the fight. Sturm , Chavez and Martinez had been chased by Team GGG for years, but nothing ever came of it. None of the money names in or around the division have been willing to take the risk.

After the Stevens fight ratings and ticket sales (and performance), and signing an HBO contract that comes with enhanced purse outlays for top opponents GGG now qualifies as a legit minor draw. So.. suddenly, low and behold potential opponents start appearing.

His first fight back on HBO after reaching that level is former unified titlist and Ring #2 Geale. Until now Geale declined the fight in pursuit of better money. Soliman plans to be ringside with his belt and call out the winner, so barring Hearn or Arum making a PPV fight with GGG as B-side a unification bout seems really likely.

The cash cows and elite players from 154 to 168 have until the past 6 months been uniformly uninterested in stepping in with GGG, not the other way around. Now that his profile and financial incentives are too large to ignore is when you can start accurately judging.

it would be more like ggg boiling down to welter (a young man's game) then having a fight at super middle. but my point stands, imagine the response ggg would get if he next dropped a division, as broner is.
